Jamie Lynn Spears Pregnant Again, Says the National Enquirer

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney Spears’s 17-year-old sister who became the poster child for teen pregnancies after giving birth in June, is reportedly pregnant again — and some people close to Jamie Lynn are urging her to consider abortion — according to the National Enquirer — the same notorious — but often accurate — tabloid that outed the John Edwards affair.

Jamie Lynn once starred on the Nickelodeon tween television series "Zoey 101." On June 19, she gave birth to daughter Maddie Briann and is currently engaged to the baby’s father, Casey Aldridge, 19. According to the Enquirer, Jamie Lynn was in shock when an at-home pregnancy test showed a positive result. She said to sources, reports the Enquirer, that she thought since she’s been breast-feeding daughter Maddie, she couldn’t get pregnant.

While it’s true that breast-feeding helps reduce your chances of getting pregnant, Dr. Rebekah E. Gee, an OB/GYN at the University of Pennsylvania, told wowOwow it’s not a great contraceptive. "Prolactin is released while you breast-feed, which usually suppresses ovulation. But some women – which could be the case for Jamie Lynn — can still ovulate when breast-feeding," said Dr. Gee.

Say what you want about the Enquirer being a “rag” and sleeze paper” but lately, epescially over the last several years, they have printed the truth about celebrities. Truth that I am sure most did not want revealed. If this is true….it just breaks my heart. Must I personally go home to home and give out sex education courses to every teen in America? For the millioneth time….THERE COUNTLESS THINGS A MALE AND FEMALE CAN DO TOGETHER TO BRING ABOUT THE SAME LEVEL OF SEXUAL PLEASURE WITHOUT THE RISK OF PREGNANCY!

We all need comic relief at times, but to bring up the Spears’ family, any of them, again, is pure bordeom. I admit, I haven’t read these threads, but was very surprised this topic was among those being presented for discussion. Frankly, who cares?

Good grief! Why didn’t they put her on birth control pills? I guess the old saying pertains: Abstinence makes the heart grow fonder? Up in the Kentucky hollers, it is called “barefoot and pregnant”…

Yes its very sad if this rumor is true but I can tell you that getting pregnant right after having a baby is so common b/c you have to wait those 6 awful weeks to have sex again and so once you can have sex, you just go at it like rabbits…SORRY had to get that out… I really do think its sad IF she is pregnant again that she nor her Dr even thought about Mirena or the pill…man and people were putting Palin’s daughter down so bad….Jamie Lynn must not of liked that competition!

Some don’t wait those 6 weeks, I had a neighbor who had her son the same time I had my youngest, I couldn’t believe it when I saw her pregnant again, turns out she got that way while still in the hospital from childbirth, some people don’t wait AT ALL. Could not imagine either having any desire that soon or finding a way to manage it with the constant doctors and nurses around.

Congrats!!! I am so happy to hear this news (if true). The Jamie’s and Bristol’s of this generation have made it the “in” thing to do. That town in Massachusetts was ahead of this fade. May they all get a reality show because that’s how Hollywood approves of this type of behavior. And to think my mom told me if I ever came home and told her I was pregnant she would throw me out of the house. I am so glad times have changed since the 60s.

I don’t get it. This is what happens when you are female, young and fertile and able to have babies! Look back and don’t judge. I was there. What about you? R E A L L Y? I don’t get the down thing about women who have the little ones before society says its their time, ie before marriage. I only have conerns about those who judge others but do not assess themselves in similar circumstances )sp. Once those little ones are here we must care and cherish them with our love as a society. This does not happen sometimes. See the horrible situation in DC…………………….. I can’t talk about it. It’s too horrible to say. The important thing is that if we (women and men) bring the “boobey goobey’s” into this world we love them and cherish them… period.
