but we can see Todd on his snow machine from
where we are. Heh, heh, heh."

Jane, Love the wolves!!!! You’ve done it again, one of them looks like my dog Sky, but she has more black and white on her face. She is mixed Border Collie and Siberian Husky, but she has lavender blue eyes.

She must be wonderful looking. And the border collie is a fascinating breed and so smart. Does she try to herd everyone into a group like the one I had did?

Jane, Hello, it is a pleasure to peak in on you and “The Family”. I stopped now to leave a reply because One of the first things that struck me from your family album, That She, has such pretty eyelashes! (meaning the girl wolf) I am a fairly new wOwer and I do not know her name, does she have one? I think it would be good if all the Boy wolfs would pee a llittle message in the snow, right on the Palin’s front lawn…”It’s not Nice to fool with Mother Nature!” Then the whole pack could you know what….

Hi Jane Yes, she tries to herd all the time. She is 13 now but continues to chase and catch balls as good as the rest of them. I don’t throw the frisbee for her anymore because she doesn’t always land right. We have another rescue that is lab and pointer and she tries to herd her constantly. It is funny. Aren’t they smart? They are amazing. Sometimes I think she knows what I am going to do before I do it.

The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for whites or women for men.” -Alice Walker (my current favorite quote to obsessively beat into the ground) Wolves have the queen-mother Nature on their side. While mankind continues to usher in its own extinction, “Nature always finds a way.” While humans continue to de-evolve (some unwittingly, some voluntarily), wild animals adapt with the tools needed to persevere until their planet is given back to them. (Wouldn’t it be interesting if it turned out that NOT ONLY are they not here for us, but we are only here as THEIR…test?) …although the polar bear plight completely negates everything I just said…

You always have something interesting to say, Kryssi, and I love the Alice Walker quote. I love her, don’t you?

Jane I heard that last week Lily was at a LA City Council meeting to try to stop the new LA Zoo elephant exhibit from being built. Today I heard a council member say that they were going to stop the new elephant exhibit and maybe do something about a habitat. Wondering if that is really true?

I am not much of an avid reader [she reluctantly admits, shamefully] but I have read “The Color Purple” and other various excerpts (my college composition professor was a fan), and can without a doubt agree that I share the love for Ms. Walker! Actually, not long ago as I was channel-surfing during some ungodly hour of the morning, I came across an exclusive interview (CNN - Larry King, I think?) and I found myself absolutely enthralled by her presence. She possesses this superior wisdom that was almost palpable even from within my TV screen. She is the type of woman who, if I see she has something to say, I will immediately silence myself and listen with an open mind. Very advanced…intimidatingly so. The problem I seem to have with authors as accomplished as she, I never quite know where to START. So if you or anyone else here as any recommendations…fire away, please.

When I was a young poet in San Francisco in the 70s, Happy Hyder, who is a long-time friend of Alice, introduced us at a party of the young and arty. She’d just published her first novel, which I was so touched by, and I was too shy to really talk with her. About a year ago, we found ourselves over the fruit at Whole Foods, and I told her I had really kicked myself for decades that I had been so stupid. That I hadn’t reached out to her, then. She looked me straight in the eye and said, “You’re right. It was stupid.” We both laughed that rueful laugh of being in our 60s now instead of in our 20s, made our selections, and moved on.

Nice story, Mugsy. She was recently on KPFK with the Wonderful and valuable Amy Goodman and she read something she had written (advice to Obama) It was touching.

Kryssi, Well you keeping on using it!…I had never heard that one and wOw, I love it! And between you and Jane I am going to be searching for more Alice Walker…Thank you girl and Zorra sends her Love too! Right now she is playing Mommy to two 3wk old kittens. Which have no Mother of their own. Bottle feeding and wiping the little bottoms. What a hoot to see my pup licking and doing what she can for them. If I am out of the room and one cries, She barks and run to where I am, barks until I follow her back to where her Babies are. When I get a chance I will Myspace some pictures. I wish we had a sub page on this site so we could do pics and stuff between us wOwers.(Think I’ll send that to the staff the thing about a between wOwers) Peace be with you…
