"She can’t possibly see Russia from where she is,
but we can see Todd on his snow machine from
where we are. Heh, heh, heh."

To all, Enjoy! Date: Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 8:39 AM Obama’s Use of Complete Sentences Stirs Controversy http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andy-borowitz/obamas-use-of-complete-se_b_… In the first two weeks since the election, President-elect Barack Obama has broken with a tradition established over the past eight years through his controversial use of complete sentences, political observers say. Millions of Americans who watched Mr. Obama’s appearance on CBS’s 60 Minutes on Sunday witnessed the president-elect’s unorthodox verbal tick, which had Mr. Obama employing grammatically correct sentences virtually every time he opened his mouth. But Mr. Obama’s decision to use complete sentences in his public pronouncements carries with it certain risks, since after the last eight years many Americans may find his odd speaking style jarring. According to presidential historian Davis Logsdon of the University of Minnesota, some Americans might find it “alienating” to have a president who speaks English as if it were his first language. “Every time Obama opens his mouth, his subjects and verbs are in agreement,” says Mr. Logsdon. “If he keeps it up, he is running the risk of sounding like an elitist.” The historian said that if Mr. Obama insists on using complete sentences in his speeches, the public may find itself saying, “Okay, subject, predicate, subject predicate — we get it, stop showing off.” The president-elect’s stubborn insistence on using complete sentences has already attracted a rebuke from one of his harshest critics, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska. “Talking with complete sentences there and also too talking in a way that ordinary Americans like Joe the Plumber and Tito the Builder can’t really do there, I think needing to do that isn’t tapping into what Americans are needing also,” she said. Andy Borowitz is a comedian and writer whose work appears in “The New Yorker” and “The New York Times,” and at his award-winning humor site, BorowitzReport.com .

Hey, how was everyone’s Thanksgiving??? Oh, and ATTENTION, MISS EDITH ANN: WEEEE MIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSS YOOOUUUUUU!!!!!!! Come out and play soon - maybe we can all decorate the sand box in time for Christmas! Have you made a list yet? I’m still holding out for World Peace………or at least a DVD box set of all of Lily Tomlin’s past TV specials. And I mean ALL of them. (That’s close enough, right?)

Jane, I am wondering if you are trying to make a political statement with this care-toon? If so, when will you be addressing the fact that Sarah Palin ordered wolves to be shot because they were eating the main food source for human beings. Or, do you believe that people should starve?

Interesting. What was this “main” food source that the wolves were consuming in such large quantities? Haven’t heard about this; then again, when does the media EVER provide all sides?

Well-drawn cartoon, but what’s with the silly message? Sarah Palin never said she could see Russia from her house, Tina Fey did, she also has never shot wolves from helicopters, that was a joke/rumor spread. I do know in Alaska it is neccessary to thin wolf herds for their best advantage to live as we do in the South with the deer. So, I am left wondering why wolves care about Todd Palin on a snow machine, unless you are intimating that they should eat him before he eats/kills them. Wowowow, as your site says, I had to go through all of that, and still am not clear on the joke or your motive. What is this site?? I thought I stumbled onto a women’s site, but it is more a slam-site, negtive toward at least one woman. Why??

It was Tina Fey and not Governor Palin who said, “I can see Russia…” Give Tina credit for her comedic comment. The wolves are just wolves. Part of nature just like people.

But, technically, Big Diomede, which sits in Russian territory, and Little Diomede, which is part of the United States. At their closest, these two islands are a little less than two and a half miles apart, which means that, on a clear day, you can definitely see one from the other.

Let’s leave the Palins alone and perhaps they will go away never to be heard from again.

I’m new to WOW and jeez…spent hours here reading in my PJ’s with mugs of java—-too cold and icy to venture outdoors…BUT I digress. You know, I was thinking about the whole shooting wolves/other animals thing, and I had an idea. I think they should have “animal advocates” who are adept with guns, and if you are inclined to slaughter/hunt them you must first survive an advocate ‘hunt’ where you have no means to defend yourself, and the advocates hunt you down. IF you manage to survive, you get a hunting license—-BUT the advocates can shoot you during the season too. Wonder how many ‘sportspeople’ would be so inclined to slaughter them then? Mind you, I’m not opposed to people hunting to put food on the table, but I think the odds need to be evened up a bit, y’know? And more thought put into all Mother’s Children having a spot on the planet…Cheers!

Why does Sarah Palin seem to still obsess Liberals/Democrats?  There are a lot of us who regard her as someone to admire and some of us are not registered w/any party as we like to thing and investigate people/issues w/an independent mindset.

Stumbled on this website to read "Dear Margo" and generally thought the premise of the website was to promote women of all cultures/beliefs and the success thereof.  However after browsing for some hours it generally seems that only liberal democrat women are to be admired.  How……liberal.
