Jane Wagner: 'Tis Better to Give Than to Receive
In response to: Purse Confidentials: Would you lend money to a friend knowing that, chances are, you probably wouldn't get it back?
Yes, yes, yes, by all means. What’s a little bailout between friends? And it warms my heart to know I have friends who would do the same for me if necessary. However, it’s so much easier to give someone help than to ask for help for yourself.

Your generosity is so sincere. You have always helped anyone who needed it and yes, you do have many who would do anything for you. Even if you never asked!!! You have shown me that often times at the most unexpected moments it is a blessing to be a blessing in anothers life when they least expect it. I think our society is in for a transformation of spirit and mind. Our hearts and our pocketbooks will find many places where we can reach out and lift someone up. It doesn’t always take a lot, we just have to attune ourselves to the needs of others. Wishing you the best as always.

I have many times given money and never had it returned. I agree it is very hard to ask for a loan. Hope I never have to do it. You never know though and probably wouldn’t except if needed for someone else.
Very proud I guess.
Jane,
You do us all proud. Thank you.
I find it is so much easier to give without expectation of getting paid back… then, I am not usually disappointed. However, I have been surprised, when those to whom I have given (loaned), have actually tried to pay me back.
That’s the fun part! People most often really do not disappoint us, if only we are able to entrust them with a little bit of ourselves. I like to discover the people who actually do surprise me when I least expect it.
It is so good to have you back again, Jane! Thanks for your wisdom and playfulness. A great combination.
