Joan Ganz Cooney's Age Requirements

In response to: Is the recession ruining your holidays? Don't be a grinch! What holiday traditions will you never change – recession or no?

All my stepchildren, spouses and their children, assorted cousins and nephews, and two or three friends come to our apartment every year shortly before Christmas, where little ones open presents and then go home and everyone over 12 stays for dinner. We’ll continue this until we’re too old to remember all the names.

Joan — What a marvelous way to celebrate with that delicious mix of young and oldER - for we aren’t old and we know it!! And tell Pete I still remember our first office Christmas together - could it have been 1952? — on 39 S. LaSalle Street in Chicago fondly - and I too think of those years as “the good ole days” when we were oh! so young and the world was right! For it was, it was!!
