No, no, no. This is beyond the line of absurdity, for a number of very valid reasons. Alas, once the genie of technology’s out of the bottle, people will push it to its inappropriate limits, and will cry discrimination or victimization if their access to said technology is obstructed. The very elderly anomalies seem to have different motivations than the majority of women who seek IVF. The grannies (and they are usually women who’ve already borne children, and are often grandmothers) generally want to provide an heir to a newer/younger spouse. That’s really a pathetic motivation - adopt! And the fact that they can find medical “professionals” to accommodate their desires is the final warped thread in the process. I think it’s selfish, amoral, unethical, and unfair to the infant(s) who are born into such situations and circumstances.
If it would be unfair to the infant born into the situation
Why would it be fair to another womans born infant, or another womans born egg/embryo, or a hired surrogate’s born infant that comes into the exact situation thru adoption?
Still an infant in the same situation.
Adoption is hardly any different to the infant concerned.
Certainly not against her will!!!. LOL.
I can’t imagine a 70 year old woman wanting fertility treatments if she does not have dementia. I would expect that the physician had a through psychological exam performed and made sure that there were no signs and symptoms of any type of dementia. (Dementia can be caused by a number of things). A fertility doctor would not be the one to perform that type of exam. Sometimes doctors think they are gods but they are not.
If this has been said before in other comments. Sorry. Just trying to catch up on everything on this site.
