Crooner Josh Groban's Hilarious Emmy Performance Didn't Put Us to Sleep (Video)

Crooner Josh Groban didn’t put people to sleep Sunday night at the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards.

Like always, Groban beautifully registered a wide range of tones as he performed at the 2008 Emmy Awards. But in a very un-Josh-Groban-like way, the classical, opera-style star stretched the envelopo when he provided an out-of-character performance that was hilarious and goofy. As Groban, 27, sang a medley of theme songs from America’s most popular television shows of our times, viewers not only got a good laugh but an education lesson about the last 60 years in American TV history. From "The Love Boat," "Happy Days" and "The Andy Griffith Show," to the "The Simpsons" and "Friends," Groban sang an array of schizophrenic beats without a hitch.

Watch his performance via YouTube below:

Oh my heavens…You can’t tell me that wasnt just out of this world AWESOME! Josh Groban has to be one of the best male singers this world was ever blessed with. One of his songs I am dancing to as my first dance in my wedding! Can’t wait!

Oh Thanks That was great. A little bittersweet when I saw the “Cops” camera work. Mark Bozman who did a lot of the camera work on that show recently passed away because of a motorcycle accident. His son is my youngest’s friend and is braving through his loss. Mark filmed so many shows and sequences that we have all watched, so I am taking the time here to give him a wave.

That was a show stopper. I didn’t realize his range because he usually performs ballads. I think he should record other types of music. On another note: The Memoriam during these award shows always gets to me. Sometimes I forget that some great names are no longer with us.

This should have been the opening for the milestone 60th instead of the slow torture forced upon the viewers.

This is one of those treasures that I miss by not watching much TV, but thankfully I now have the internet with sites like this that give me a second chance to catch the real gems. Thank you so much. Josh has been a favorite of mine since I heard the first glorious note from that golden throat.
