Katie Couric, Letterman Reflect on Rush Limbaugh's Chest Hair (Video)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Rush Limbaugh caused a stir with his speech at this weekend’s Conservative Political Action Conference, but television host David Letterman’s far more concerned with Limbaugh’s attire: an unbuttoned dress shirt. Ever curious about a woman’s opinion, Letterman asked Katie Couric what she thought of Limbaugh’s look. Here’s their exchange on the pressing matter.

Watch:

Transcript:

DAVID LETTERMAN: What about this bonehead Rush Limbaugh? Honest to God, I mean, what is going on there?

KATIE COURIC: Dave, don’t do this to me, please! Don’t do this to me.

LETTERMAN: He gets up in Washington and he’s the keynote speaker at some function, and he comes up, he looks like an Eastern European gangster. You know, he’s got the black jacket on, the black silk shirt and it’s unbuttoned, like, "Oh yeah, when you think Rush Limbaugh, you think ooh let’s see a little flesh." [audience laughter] Honestly, you know, what is he doing?

COURIC: On a serious note, although I’m thrown by the Rush Limbaugh flesh in one sentence, but I think it’s sort of indicative of this power vacuum that exists right now in the Republican party …

LETTERMAN: We get used to Republicans like Newt Gingrich and Newt … resembled a Newt … but a smart guy. And now all of a sudden you get Rush Limbaugh … "I’m sorry the casino’s closed" … What? Leave us alone, my God!’

Couric laughs, adding, "So much for my interview with Rush."

Tell us! What you think of Limbaugh’s unbuttoned shirt look? Sexy or unsightly?

Wow, Letterman and Couric making fun of the Leader of the Republican Party. Well, at least they won’t have to go lick his boots in apology like Steele did yesterday.

So true, so true DeBurca, I am finding it very entertaining just to watch republicans say something and then have to apologize.

Oh my.  I hate these types of pictures.  Now, I love Katie Couric, but there are some pretty unflattering pictures of her out there, too.  I bet there’s even a few of Dave out there looking less than dapper.

That being said, I’m not a huge fan of chest hair showing on any guy… maybe if Rush had accessorized with a few gold chains?

The Reps don’t want to admit that Limbaugh is their new leader, I don’t know why you would let just an "entertainer" speak at your meeting for 90 mins!!!  Wouldn’t that honor be reserved for the "leader" of the party well he is that and he was doing his job so they can try and say it isn’t so but it is!!!  They liked to say that Nancy Pelosi is running the show , but at least she is the Speaker of the House and not a jumped up talk radio host trying to be politician…..God forbid what a thought!!!

Rush Limbaugh must be so pleased with himself.

Isn’t it the republicans who loudly decry the political opinions of celebraties? My walls vibrate still from the constant din during President Obama’s campaign: Oprah, how dare she?!!! She’s only a talk show host, for example.

I have seen far too many examples of the party’s talent for taking every stupid (or illegal, or immoral) thing they do, and with a nauseating amount of gall, righteously damn the democrats as the perpetrators of whatever the scheme might be.

You are correct, but you see that is fine for the Reps to have as many celebs as they like to put forth their message.  It’s only when we Dems get them it becomes a problem..hypocrisy abounds with them.   It makes it even worse in the case of Limbaugh though as he is only a radio talk show host and he is being portrayed as the Reps version of the Messiah….which is as we know is what they call Obama!!!   Even having those two Senators and Steele begging his forgiveness how sad is that??

David Letterman is pulling no punches these days! And the great thing is if Rush ever went on his show, Dave would say it to his face (Blago, McCain) and not apologize the next day either.

I really think Letterman, since he became a father, has really become serious about what is going on in this country and his opinions mean more to him than being pc (unlike Leno who obviously ALWAYS has his fan base in mind).

Anita…the libs don’t want to discuss these issues because they can’t defend "the anointed one" on these issues…so this is a way  they use Rush as a "cop out" so they can avoid the real issues that’s happening to our Country….kind of funny and sad at the same time…great post Anita.

I remember this strategy.  It’s been around for a long time, at least 8 years.

What you think of Limbaugh’s unbuttoned shirt look?

I didn’t realize it was unbuttoned.  He is not the voice of the Republican party, so let’s not go there.  If you don’t like the guy fine.  I don’t like Katie Couric, so there isn’t much to discuss here.

Marjorie—I don’t think he is either but I do wish he quit calling himself it.  I don’t like Katie Couric either and seldom watch mainstream TV News.
