Laura Bush Angered Over Obama Attacks (Video)

Like all married couples, Laura and George Bush don’t always see eye to eye. And that’s definitely the case when it comes to President-elect Barack Obama’s campaign critiques of George’s leadership. The first couple appeared on "Larry King Live" last night and discussed a range of issues, including Obama. While Mr. Bush admitted he "likes" Obama, Mrs. Bush told King she wasn’t always happy with how he handled himself on the campaign trail. Though it was President Bush who was asked if he took criticism to heart, it was Laura Bush who said she was angry about some of Obama’s rhetoric. Here’s the exchange:

KING: Oh, I know him. He was — but he was so critical of you. Do you take that personally or you don’t?

L. BUSH: I did.

KING: You did?

(LAUGHTER)

KING: Were you — were you angry at it?

L. BUSH: Yes, sort of. George didn’t even really know about it because he didn’t watch it that much, I don’t think.

Mr. Bush said such attacks are part and parcel of the political realm.

The trio also discussed more serious matters, like Iraq. Asked about whether she thinks we should have invaded the country, Mrs. Bush offered this:

I mean, do we really think we wish we had just kept doing UN Resolutions against Saddam Hussein and that he was still there? I mean, I just don’t think people really think that. And I think the people of Iraq are out from underneath a regime — a tyrannical regime, and have the chance to build a country and build a democracy. And I hope that the people of the United States will stand with them while they do that.

Well, at this point we don’t really have much of a choice, do we?

Here’s video of the Obama exchange.

Spoken like the true Stepford wife she is. I give her points for her loyalty to her husband but no credit for political savvy.

Considering she lived with a coke addict drunk for all those years before he found the “sky people” she ought to have a thicker skin.

One might posit, at this point in her life, she sees no alternatives. But, there are many …

Frank….LOL. And before ‘Bushie’ took his Sky God to war with a former CIA asset’s different Sky God to the great misery of tens of millions of innocent people. Laura needs to zip it, load it onto the helicopter and spend the rest of her life married to the mob, downin’ her scotch, smokin’ her ciggies, incapable of intelligent thought or discourse. Good riddance!

She needs to grow-up! If she doesn’t get the political spins by now she never will. How does she think Mrs.John Kerry felt when Bush swift-boated him? How about how mad we are at her hubby for lieing to us about the WMD’s that didn’t exist. And, too much more to list. It was a pathedic comment.

I’ve heard these extraordinary things about the pilot who landed the plane….My analogy is that we are all sitting on the wings waiting to be rescued…..Let’s hope that we all get there before the water laps around our knees……B-r-r-r-r…….

Hello Frannie, Me too! Actually I thought she was a decent First Lady. It could not have ever been easy being George’s wife. I think that this talk with King just kinda of shows that she is human…It would be hard to hear all the things that have been said if you were his wife. I would have never watched any of the news had I been her. Just gone about doing the things she did, with reading and programs for children, and Hope that it would all come to an end sooner than latter. She must be thrilled that this Term has come to an end. I sure would be….

Bush never followed the campaign. He never followed news reports either. He didn’t even watch the Katrina coverage. He lived in his own bubble (the war in Iraq) that made it impossible to do the job he was elected to do.

Brooklyn, he watched enough to bemoan how he was ‘treated’ in the media … deer in the headlights expression again …
