Lauren Bacall Blasts 'Maniac' Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise has many fans, legendary star Lauren Bacall is definitely not one of them.

The 84-year-old divine actress, supermodel and political activist branded the Scientologist a "maniac" during an interview with Elle magazine.

"Tom Cruise is a maniac. I can’t understand the way he conducts his life," Bacall told Elle magazine in a cover story interview celebrating Nicole Kidman’s achievements in motherhood and Hollywood. Bacall told the magazine that while filming "Dogville" in 2003, years after the divorce, she remembers Kidman still reeling from the effects and being "unhappy." Kidman married Cruise at age 23 and divorced 11 years later in 2001. They have two adopted children, Isabella and Connor. This July, Kidman, 41, gave birth to a baby girl, Sunday Rose.

Kidman, who married country music sensation Keith Urban in 2006, told Elle that she has "a more evolved" and "profound" love with Urban, and said she knows that Cruise has the same with wife, actress Katie Holmes.

I remember when Bogart was dying and the stories in our local L.A. papers about Lauren and her devotion to him in his last days. It is hard to believe what you read in the papers nowadays about “movie stars”. But I believe today as I did then that Lauren was a supportive loving wife. She was also an excellent actress. She was impressive as a NY model who made the transition into STAR and Actress when so many beautiful, popular models of the time did not make it in theater or movies. Lauren did both and handled her private life with dignity and grace. I am a couple of years younger but as a young mother in the 19950’s I was impressed with her as a person and actor. She has stayed a private person and remains beautiful. I still forgive her for marrying my movie star crush of the time (Humphrey Bogart). My husband liked him too.

Tom Cruise does have some strange ideals and loves to tell others what he thinks about them, so fair play to Lauren Bacall for returning the favour. Thankfully most people seem him for what he is. I hope it is not too rude to say, personally I think he is a bit of a twit.

Tom Cruise is a member of a cult, simple as that. Scientology is one of the stranger, most bizarre, “reigions” to have ever been created. Good for anyone who calls them out. Nicole Kidman was lucky to get away.

Before Tom C. was one, I knew of the Scientology group, and lived not far from that huge, ugly, blue, building in Hollywood, CA. I often ate at a nearby restaurant, a block from the building, and felt like something awful was lurking over me. I loved that restaurant so much, I put up with the shadowy bldg. hovering overhead. Some of ‘those’ people would actually come there to eat, as well. It just felt eerie. And, yes, this is definitely my bias! I have heard some awful horror stories …

Tom Cruise seems to be a very down to earth person, and meaningfull person!.. As for his acting ability, he is very good at what he does…and I can imagine him being a very good Husband and father..as for the passed marriage to Nichole kidman…she was very young…a good up coming star…who’s know if she ever really loved Tom..or if there were other motives…he was quite an established star before she met him…
