Dear Little Friend: My Mommy took me to the polls on Tuesday and I gots to vote cuz she had me ink in that little black circle next to the name of Barack Obama. It made me feel big and important and I walked out in the sunshine afterwards where everyone we met had big smiles on their faces. I’m not sure I understand why my Mommy and Daddy are so happy and why sometimes when they talk about this elect shion they cry. Why are you crying I ask them but they just pat me on the head and say it’s a moomentous time in the history in our country. My teacher, Mrs. Pampelmuse, didn’t look so good on Wedsday. She was a little green about the gills like one of my fish who died in the tank one day and she said we were not going to learn about Alaska anymore and would be going back to Norway. I raised my hand and asked her why and she said why was it I always asked why about everything? I want to know I said about everything I don’t understand. Hmmmf, she said, it’s best sometimes to be quiet and observe. Well, I thought, if I did that I’d learn what you wanted me to know and that just wasn’t good enough. I can think that way now cuz I voted on Tuesday and I feel all fired up!!! Can you come over soon and play? My Mommy will make us cookies this time cuz she feels sooooo much better. Maybe we can ask Kryssi to come too. She whispered in my ear at recess that the sky would not fall after all. Love and kisses, Phittis Doydal

Yes, I’d like to come over, but instead of playing, let’s talk about the Obamas and what kind of puppy they should get. I think they should get a kitten to hopefully one that looks like Dice,The Nice. This is exciting to have two little girls who will be living in the White House. They should call the Dog Whisperer for some tips on how to house train the pup. We dont want the While house to get pee stains on the carpeting, but it happen if their dog is anything like my dog. Anyway, they can find something at PetSmart to remove the pee stains, don’t you think? Edith

Dice the Nice
Dear Edith: I’m very flattered that you are suggesting that the “first family” get cat that looks like me. THANK YOU. Dice, the nice.

ah-Ha! Ha-ha! Perfect! Even Obama will be keeping a special eye on you, Edith Ann. So…if you ever doubted that you were a special little girl…and I don’t think you ever did…you can kiss those worries good-bye. Hey! Are you on the list for an overnight?

Not yet. Do you have any ideas about how I might go about getting on the list? Edith

Yes! I do! Go to http://www.change.gov and leave a message for Malia and Sasha. Say nice things, be polite, but don’t feel like you have to “kiss up” or say anything that isn’t true. I think they’d see right through that. And then just say, “I heard you’ll still be able to have overnights, and I’d love to meet you and spend a night at the white house.” Let them know if you have your own sleeping bag. You can even send them a picture, just in case they don’t know you’re famous. I think that’s a great idea, Edith. Don’t be shy! Good luck!

Little Fefe ~ There is nothing wrong with being too idealistic. It is just your dreams sparkling.
YAAY! This should be the newest US postage stamp either that or it’d make for a lovely Holiday card. “And that’s the truth..pthhhhh”
Jane Wagner
Hey, Little Fefe, Good idea. Maybe it could be a Thanksgiving day card ‘cause I’m so thankful Obama got elected, aren’t you?

I would love it if the Obama family got their new doggie from an animal shelter. There’s tons of little critters looking for a loving home!!!!

Oh Edith Ann, Just think—2 new playmates in the White House and soon they will have a puppy to play with. How great is that!!!! I bet their daddy will work hard so that they and all the other little sons and daughters will grow up in a country that is safe and secure. I bet he wants us kids to have parents who don’t cry because those bankers took away their jobs and homes. Did you see all those important people today with Obama on the TV?? They know all sorts of stuff about business. They are very smart. I bet they can name all 7 continents. We even drew a picture of the world and colored them all in.

Our new President-elect is a good man. And a wonderful dad. Just look at how proud he is of Malia and Sasha. We all feel so much better knowing he will be in charge of the country and he will work with ALL the people in Congress to make things better for everyone. I think we’ll all have do our parts, including kids. And that’s a good thing.

Hope….Everybody……Act…..Everybody imagine that I’m singing that… Edith- I took my artwork to a first grade class this week. I took 3 little paintings and they wrote stories about what they thought was going on in the picture. I knew I was on a roll when I revealed each painting and they burst into laughter. There is nothing like first grade laughter! Every time I looked up, I saw another hand in the air asking how to spell something. I spelled so many words on the chalkboard that one boy said, ‘That’s the most words I’ve ever seen on the board’!….I had to laugh at that…he was right. There were so many words that some were written at a slant. The words that stick to mind are pyramid, junkyard, castle, enemy….I was worried about the “enemy” boy. Anyhow, this is my one and only blog on wow today. Please tell Auntie Jane that her newest wolf picture made me want to howl to the top of my lungs!
