Life in the Little Lane: Edith Ann on the Obama Family Interview

Did everybody see the big interview with the Obama family? I enjoyed it. I wish I’d been with them, but they have enough worries – they don’t need me hanging around. I love to see happy families being happy, don’t you?

But have you heard all the talk about the questions not being hard-hitting enough? Give me a break. What should those cute kids have been asked, for Heaven’s sake?

Did you ever hear your Mom and Dad say anything bad about Hillary?
Has your Dad ever lied to you?
Do your Mom and Dad ever have a heated argument? If so, what do they argue about?
Do you make good grades?
Who is the boss around the house?
How much is your allowance? Can you live on it?
What do you think about the photos in Vanity Fair that Hannah Montana took?
What are your favorite websites?
What are your favorite books?
What do you think about what Jesse Jackson said about your Dad?

I loved the interview, myself. The only thing I would’ve added was, when the girls said they wanted to get ice cream later, I would’ve certainly asked what their favorite flavor of ice cream was. It may not have been hard-hitting, but it would certainly be something we would all want to know.

Dear Edith Ann, I was not sure if you saw this …. my source for the “Family Pet Policy” officially being approved by all the would be first mommies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08DogD8tNJA So, yeah, word on the streets (you and I know us kids got streets too) … word on the street is the Obama girls squeezed a contract to make the parents give them a dog … apparently according to my sources they have been in serious negotiations. Different breeds of dog and the alleged name of said animal has been hot topic for morning conversations … And Michelle has clearly endorsed the “Family Pet Policy” … The rest of the would be first mommies chimed in all singing in perfect pitch. It was music to a my ears and when you watch this link/source then you can join me in a KID HAPPY DANCE … on account us kids are smarter than we look and we look really cute …. it is a win win! Edith Ann and Company please find my source for my story: California Womens Conference “A Conversation with Campaign Spouses”. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08DogD8tNJA And yes, the first doggies always have a CIA guy to pick up the Doo Doo. These CIA guys must be really big because they only go by initials …. you know like people who go by their first names in movies and TV ….. My mom says if you are big then you only need one name … Anyways, my bet is Secret Agent Men are going to watch the pet do his royal business and take photos to sell to TMZ. It is a dangerous world out there for all kinds of pets and wild animals too … Buster knows! … you have heard him complain about this. There is money in photos of the first pet … Sad, how sad that is. I have always said the TMZ can RIPCIA, TMZ, FBI … The truth is I think the Obama children are already being tought how to handle the world one interview at a time … it truly is a greening process. The Obama girls are smart young ladies that will grow up to smart young women on account no matter what storm or media frenzy they may face their parents are well grounded people that love their children, their neighbor and our world. These ideals are passed down from generation to generation … something about genes and environment. That is way too over my head Edith Ann on account I am only 9 going on 49 … I have a hamster pet. I also have a pet doxie … her name is Schotzie … she is sick because the vet gave her too many meds at once … kinda like the vaccinations and little babies too many too soon … my Schotzie is four and very sick. My Mitchell is 9 and very sick … I have a photo of my hamster, his name is Hammy, I like to call the photo “Hamm with Jesus” …. I sent it to WoW to be posted under the reader pets.

See what I am talkin’ about Edith Ann …. Hammy is just a hamster that belongs to a girl in the big city. Hammy is waiting to make his debut … he has starability and he ain’t really down with the wait time for fame. Dear WoW, please post Hamm and Jesus as soon as you can … some hamsters really do have diva qualities. Edith Ann, I want you to know that you have two really great names that can be identified by two really great names! My name today is BGC …… last month is was Liza D …. 08 … beta …. I change my name all the time on account I like to play hide and seek from the bad guy. I have to go now …. I can hear the Jeopardy music and my dad is moving around in the dad chair …. I he going to wake up soon …. no wonder mommies and kids run away!

Victor the Butler
Good evening ladies. Miss Lily asked me to come and say hello. Miss Edith Ann, please be assured that I am a very proper English butler and would only ever serve delightful and appropriate summer thirst quenchers to little girls who have had a dry warm day, playing in the sandbox. This evening I have a tasty selection of milk shakes and iced fruit juices. …at your service, Victor

Victor, Raise the champagne glasses tonight. Maureen Dowd has chimed in on this interview http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/13/opinion/13dowd.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogi… Edith Ann, I think their daddy was wrong to say the interview was wrong. Instead he should have said how proud his was of this daughters but would not be making them available for TV interviews or dating until they are old—like you know—30.

Dear Edith Ann, I liked those girls. They are very pretty and smart. I think instead of being interviewed, they should have interviewed that lady. They seemed smart enough to get some good answers. Then, a new show should give them a microphone again, and they could interview their mom and dad. They are smart enough. I am glad I met them. I didn’t think they were being exploded. They looked like they were in one piece when the interview was over. Your pal, Frannie Em

Oh THANK you, Frannie Em…..I didn’t think they were being exploded either, and appreciate that you said so! How sad that some grown-ups want to take sweet things and try to make them sour. Scary, huh?

That is , in my opinion, the downside to the overwhelming media coverage we have today. Two little girls, whose father just happens to be in politics, are analyzed/scrutinized. Let them be kids!

countrywoman I thought they were delightful. I would love to see them more, but it is a high profile campaign and The Obama’s need to act on their own judgement. Many of us know how that goes.

Agree again, Frannie Em……

Perfectly delightful! Left us wanting more, and respecting the loving parents who must deny same. Sure hope that truth will shine a bright light on the very notion of explosion!
