Linda Tripp Praises Obama's 'Purity of Soul'

We know where Bill Clinton is, but what in the world happened to the other players from the former president’s Monica Lewinsky scandal? Well, Ms. Monica went to study in London and hasn’t been heard from since. Literary agent Lucianne Goldberg, who helped break the story, has remained quiet for Lucianne Goldberg, and we’ve heard nary a peep from Linda Tripp.   That is, however, until wOw tracked her down to the Christmas Sleigh store which she owns in Middleburg, VA, with her husband.

With more than 1,300 products, the C. Sleigh, according to their website, specializes in handmade or handcrafted European wares. From mouth-blown and hand-painted ornaments, to handmade collector’s dolls, to nutcrackers, smokermen, hand-carved nativities, paintings and the most incredible selection of authentic and beautifully made Austrian "Trachten" clothing available in this country – the store seems to have it all. Walking into Linda Tripp’s shop is a walk back in time!

Speaking of which, back in time it was Linda Tripp who famously taped her then-“friend” Monica Lewinsky relaying her titillating adventures with the president. Interested in hearing what Tripp had to say of the recent election (yes, she’s a week late in returning our e-mail), Tripp relayed the following thoughts: "I am so very proud that as a nation we might finally be getting it right. I believe Sen. McCain is an American hero and a deeply honorable public servant, something one seldom sees in Washington. I also believe he could have been a strong president. That said, I believe President-elect Obama possesses an instantly recognizable purity of soul that, coupled with his brilliance, and, of course, his eloquence, brought quite unimaginable and long-awaited magic to the country, transforming red and blue states, quite literally, into ‘The Color Purple.’ I believe the entire country will stand behind him."

Thank you, Linda! Now we’ll wait for our nice Christmas tree bulb. Red or green is fine.

Tee Zee, Please come join us as we are meeting this sunday on Mary Wells winter comforts thread about buying ultra pricey sweaters. We are just getting started so speak up and say something funny so we know you are there!! Talk about useless subjects…you must check this out if you would rather not spend your money on Linda Tripps’ baubles…you can go over there and find out how one goes about buying a nice little sweater for no more than $4,000. See you there.

Amen… When one thinks back about impeaching a president because of an indecretion that occurred in his office, and contrast that act with all the terrible deeds that have been done by this administration (torture, unneccessary war, etc), it really discourages me. When you think back about the peace and prosperity and contrast it with this administration, it makes Monica seem rather trivial, doesn’t it.

Ditto all of you Wowowers! But, ML trivial? Hardley. She’s despicable, and knew very well what she did, and why, and for whom!

I meant that his indecretion of Monica seems like nothing when we think of what this administration has done, not only to our country but also to the Constitution.

Absolutely, Diana. I am reading an article in ‘Harpers’ “JUSTICE AFTER BUSH’ , Proscecuting an outlaw administration, byScott Horton. ‘No prior administration has been so systematically or so brazenly lawless…………………….the issues are so complicated and the list of crimes so tangled, requiring the prosecution of the administration criminal act that is most likely to be successful. That crime is torture. We know of so much else that ranspired over the last 8 years, but the initial poosible succees for a verdict of guilt is torture. I would recommend the articl. Several other good ones as well. ‘John Gray on the Financial Meltdown’ Peace and grace

Well said, DT!!!! Here’s the take of P.J. O’Rourke (respected conservative fed up with the Republican Part—for those who don’t know) on the Clinton impeachment scam: http://www.weeklystandard.com/Utilities/printer_preview.asp?idArticle=15… If the Rethugs had let their president do his job rather than harassing him, perhaps he could have concentrated on the terrorist threat and Bin Ladin could have been eliminated. If the country had not fallen for the “Wag the Dog” libel, it would have been paying attention to what was really going on in the world. I hope we’ve all learned a lesson. I discovered the link to O’Rourke’s piece on thedailybeast.com — I find the site more entertaining and informative than wowowow. It would be nice to see some of you over there in the comments sections sometime.

Thank you so much for the link, Michael. I often said back then that this whole impeachment thing was a carefully planned diversion, and was totally uncalled for. I haven’t seen your posts for awhile. Good to have you stop by.

Yes, Diana, that’s why I “brought up” Linda and Monica’s lunch … Anyone else ever been in that “ante room?” Think about it.

Thank you, Michael. Many here apparently don’t realize that Wowowow was started to obtain the viewpoints, and preferences of a target group of women (age-wise) for marketing purposes. Thus, I’m relieved that now women are speaking out on some of the blatant excesses put “out there” for us to nibble on.

Lily––why don’t you offer your expertise and services to WOW? I would be very interested in what you have to say. I know you have your own site, but …I have personal friendships with quite a few local artists who show their work in New York and here in Ct. and have purchased two paintings from one of them.

Dame Phyllis Doyle Pepe….I hope you are having a nice Sunday but we really need your help over on Mary Wells thread about winter comforts and pricey sweaters $4000 and under. If you could rather not spend your money on Linda Tripp’s baubles you may find a way over there to blow thousands on one little garment to warm your inner soul. We plan to take over this dumb thread and call it our own and have fun in the process. Go over and just speak up so we know you are there and all will show up eventually. Cheer to you and we absolutely NEED your humor…………………………………………………………

Linda Tripp: I believe President-elect Obama possesses an instantly recognizable purity of soul that, coupled with his brilliance, and, of course, his eloquence, brought quite unimaginable and long-awaited magic to the country, transforming red and blue states, quite literally, into ‘The Color Purple.’ Sounds a bit like purple prose, or is it just a run-on sentence.

Marjorie––it’s both! Why on earth would Wow dig up Linda Tripp? Except for that little promo for her store that sells lots of imported stuff the impetus behind her reemerging is a mystery.
