Linda Tripp Rips 'Secretary of State' Hillary Clinton

They may not be best friends, but Linda Tripp and Hillary Clinton definitely know one another. And Tripp definitely has a lot to say about the possibility that Hillary will be our next secretary of state — and none of it’s very supportive. Here, in a wowOwow exclusive, Linda Tripp tells contributor Sue Carswell why she thinks the former First Lady shouldn’t quit her day job and stay away from becoming secretary of state.

Hillary’s practiced performances never cease to amaze me, and performances they truly are.

I’ve always said that if an Oscar existed for “best performance in a leading role in a political arena,” Hillary would win hands down. One should not underestimate the true dichotomy here. Her ability to be convincingly dishonest in an accomplished and polished manner garnered her 18 million gullible votes. The girl is good.

But. I sat in an office in the West Wing directly next to Hillary’s for over a year while serving as executive assistant to the counsel to the president under Bill Clinton. So as to her appointment to the Cabinet, make no mistake; she will be on no one’s team. It is always about her own political agenda. Team Hillary is the only team that exists for both Hillary and her faithful staff minions as well. People comment on the Clintons’ 33-year-long marriage and their unmatched loyalty to one another. From a firsthand viewpoint, I know that their loyalty is first, last and always to their shared and quite unparalleled ambition. From firsthand observation, public opportunism vice public service is the hallmark of the Clinton “marriage” and it is evidently working.

I remember with crystal clarity the stunning mantra back in the West Wing of the Clinton White House in early 1993, shortly after the first Clinton inauguration. “Eight years for Bill, eight years for Hill!” The sense of entitlement was pervasive. It’s a safe bet that from her perspective, a pretender will occupy the coveted chair she so desperately sought and in fact believed she deserved, so watch for Madam Secretary to vigorously orchestrate not just in the diplomacy arena, but also in the game of Musical Chairs.

I doubt deals are cut these days in dark, smoky back rooms, but each candidate has “people.” I’m sure her people and his people cut a deal shortly after he wrested the nomination from her – it probably went something like this: “You want her 18 million cracks, she gets no less than secretary of state, period.”

In any case, I have a sense that President-elect Obama is not unaware of the Clinton idiosyncrasies so I am hopeful that he and his National Security team will keep a close watch on his new secretary of state as she reigns over her very own, albeit smaller for now fiefdom. I might offer a cautionary word of advice to the Protocol staff at the State Department, and that is that it might simply be a grand idea to lock up the antique silver before the Inauguration.

Agreed, Carol. She needs her 15 minutes; also, I do believe that these types are “put up to it” by the likes of people like Karl Rove etal. Why do you think that someone as mediocre as Limbaugh gets paid hundreds of millions of dollars? It sure isn’t for the purpose of delivering real facts and real news. Time will tell, especially with the terrible problems this nation has to solve. I have to believe that everything has a beginning and an ending, and I hope that these attention seeking fringe elements start loosing their clout and influence. After all, we are all going to have to sink or swim together.

To Linda Tripp, I have thought of you and Monica throughout the years and the raw deal you both got. Don’t count on Hillary being SOS yet. The New York Gate scandal is even bigger than noted in my post above. Please feel free to email me at liberals1943@yahoo.com. Hillary Clinton supporters are just uniformed—they fail to recognize that the Clintons would have treated them the same as they treat all those who stand in the way of their building the Clinton dynasty. .

Oh Wow staff, Linda Tripp is the last person I want to hear from. Her venom and betrayals made the conclusion of the last millennium an ordeal and I see her doing nothing to bring any cheer or light to this one. Let her stew by herself; do not give her a platform to vent.

Hello there Elizabeth …..h-m-m-m…stew……almost suppertime here……. My grandmother would say, “There she is again….acting like a stewed witch…” (Usually followed by the ubiquitous : “Bless her little heart..” As in so-and-so “is such a low-life tramp, bless her little heart…”) I think this bless her heart thing gets a pretty thorough discussion in “We’re Just Like You, Only Prettier”…..a collection of funny Southern columns from a South Carolinian…Ms. Rivenbank(sp?) I don’t give two hoots about this comment from you-know-who….but, hey, it’s the weekend and we can suffer gladly a fool or two…. I wish you could see my duct tape mobile these days…hasn’t moved, of course, since we last spoke about transports of delight!! How’s yours?

If the WOW staff continues to give Tripp a voice on this site, I will leave WOW and stay off a website that allows the toxic waste of GOP to infect it. She is the fecal matter that the GOP smeared all over the country. Bringing this waste product back into a Green enviornment like {WOW} would be a serious mistake. She is a political hack attacker back with a new face to do what she did with the old face. Her pretense at loving Obama is as transparent as she is. This miserable creature is destructive and should not be permitted to vent here.

To me Linda Tripp comes across as a very bitter person. I am sure there is some truth behind what she says, but what person who achieves power and elected office in this country has not had to do political maneuvers and horse trading. Ms Tripp showed herself to be a devious person in the way that she betrayed her friend. Now she is just one more person anxious for her extra 15 minutes of fame. More like infamy. I am not interested in her righteous opinion of anything or anybody.

Linda, long walk, short pier. We would be so lucky to have Sen. Clinton. And what IS your trip, other than character assassination and trying to destroy careers. Do you actually contribute anything at all?

My Alias ROFLMAO!!! I really am sitting here at my desk just laughing away… this one little sentence is just too funny. I agree! What in the hell is she doing on this space? And, who in the hell cares what Tripp has to say anyway - she must be “stuck on Bill” Apparently, she has been lusting after him all these years to continue on the attack, and filled with venom because Hillary and Bill are still together, even though she did her best to bring them both down! Strong people just keep on keeping on. And, for all those who are so filled with skepticism about Hillary doing ‘her own thing’ as SOS, instead of having allegiance to Obama - do you really think HE is that stupid? I don’t think so. If it turns out that he is blind-sided, he is always able to do a ‘recall’ of anyone who is unwilling to follow his direction. Duh!

I agree Ro, both Tripp and Ken Starr had the serious hots for Bill. Stalkers who turned on their beloved when they felt unseen.

My Alias! Ouch! Wow, I never thought of it that way before. I think you have hit on something very key in all this, really. Either the lust for power, which means destroy them. Or the lust for Bill; when rejected by him, he has to be destroyed too. And so, the hour glass turns and churns, and the events unfold. Only to reveal the ultimate evil. Disdain toward the love object; or the naked truth - lust gone wrong. You know, Bill isn’t really all that - except for the mental artwork, and political design which he was destined for. He used to be a fairly good looking man, now age is telling and looks are dwindling. Hillary, on the other hand has improved with age. Like a fine wine, I suppose - as the saying goes - “…better with age…”
