'Maybe Yeah Bisexual' Lindsay Lohan Welcomes Our First 'Colored' President (Video)

Actress Lindsay Lohan is trying to be careful with her words lately …

In a recent interview with Maria Menounos for "Access Hollywood," the 22-year-old Lohan said in an interview that she was excited to have Obama as the future president of the United States. "It’s an amazing feeling," she said. "It’s our first colored president."

This isn’t the first time Lohan was careful with her wording. In a recent Harper’s Bazaar interview, the "Mean Girls" actress hints that she is dating that skinny female DJ Samantha Ronson, who she’s been seen holding hands with and kissing — saying that "it’s pretty obvious who I’m seeing … I love her very much."

When the magazine asked if she would call herself a bisexual, she replied:
"Maybe. Yeah."

Lesbian?
"No."

I just don’t know where a 22 yr old would hear an archaic word like that and have it roll off her tongue the way it did.

Quaint. Very 1958 of her. Or maybe she meant “colorful?” I am still hung up on his being antiwar and Irish-American I guess.

More than likely, she grew up in a household were the term “colored” was used and not necessarily in a negative way. In fact, the term “colored” dates back prior to the 20th Century (which is when is truly began to be considered offensive). Anyway who has studied the history of New Orleans or Haiti (originally Saint-Domingue) would know that at one time in US history there was an entire culture of Free People of Color who also held slaves (Gens de couleur) and they considered themselves to be “colored”. These people were of mixed race (African, French, and Spanish). My point being that dependent on where you are from, upbringing, etc this is not considered a derogatory, regardless of your ethnicity.
