Say good-bye to Kirby.

NBC has pulled the plug on "Lipstick Jungle," a series that followed the lives of three fabulous New York City females. The cast included the former movie-exec Wendy (Brooke Shields), fashion-magazine editor-in-chief Nico (Kim Raver), Nico’s very sexy boy-toy Kirby (Robert Buckley) and fashion designer Victory (Lindsay Price). Click here to read wOw’s exclusive interview with Candace Bushnell, executive producer of the axed "Lipstick Jungle."

The cancellation comes after ratings fell short of expectations.

This show appeared to be the prequel to Sex and the City, which was fine in it’s on right and really didn’t need to be expounded upon. How many times can we see the same variation of the uber successful woman spinning in life like a whirling dervish with a Berkin bag over loaded with cosmetics, when the only thing changed is their names and the decor of the set.

I liked this show, too, but it was up against Dirty Sexy Money and Top Chef/Top Design. The networks never spread good shows out; they lump them all on the same nights and leave the rest of the nights with nothing good at all. if they had tried Lipstick on another night, it would have been just fine. They didn’t even try……….Sorry to Brooke and the girls. NBC blew it, as usual.

There’s a great blog in the Chicago Tribune called “The Watcher” written by Maureen Ryan who usually has a pretty good scope on what’s up with TV and you can look up and blog about your favorite shows. It would appear “Lost” will be back in Janhttp://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/entertainment_tv/lost/index.html

When the show was moved to Friday night, I had a bad feeling that it was soon doomed to the chopping block. Friday Night is apparently the worse night to be on television. Too bad. The show has much more depth than Sex & The City (which I also liked) —— because of its focus upon the various careers of the three stars. NBC should give Lipstick Jungle another season. That network is imploding along with their news channel MSNBC.

I liked both shows………. I TEVO……….when there are conflicting shows. I think the viewing audience was low because of the Election. More people were watching the news than normal…….. You’d think someone would realize that. It’s nice to have some shows with good writing or just light and fluffly for pure entertainment. The Reality shows are Too Too Many………
