Teacher Lisa Lavoie Found at Hotel With 15-Year-Old Student

Should parents include condoms in their children’s lunchboxes?
Authorities interrupted a romantic rendezvous between a 15-year-old boy and his 24-year-old teacher at a West Virginia hotel last night. The eighth grader was reportedly missing and police were able to trail the teens whereabouts using cell phone records and financial statements.
The teacher, Lisa Lavoie, reportedly in her first year, has been charged with the felony of enticing a child.
This latest teen saga comes after the 13-year-old alleged dad Alfie Patten caused a commotion in the UK and the States. Let’s not forget the firestorm reaction following Bristol Palin’s pregnancy. This stirred much debate on whether sex education should solely preach abstinence. And, further, whether teachers should be taught a lesson on such behavior.

This story keeps recurring… a young female teacher seducing a male teenager. The ending is always bad for the teacher, yet the passion persists. A lot of times the teachers are married and have children.
Hard to fathom, unless one buys into the truth that love is an irrational emotion. How many times have we said about someone else’s affair, What in the world does she/he see in him/her?
As far as Alfie Patten or Bristol Palin, these are young people attracted to other young people… that’s something that’s been going on since the beginning of time.
I agree Sally. I also agree with Marjorie. What is it about all these young female teachers falling into these sorts of "affairs", anyway? If they are young, hot females, they get a slap on the wrist. If it were a male doing a similar thing, he’d be treated in a much different manner by the courts. And by society.

Oui Oui. And, have you noticed, (Lavoie - Letourneau) - that many have French surnames?? Mon Dieu. Oh Zee French. Zay are such a funny race.
I don’t mean to be cavalier about this very serious subject. Being French, I just couldn’t resist the coincidence. (Thin ice Marjorie C ? I hope not. Just trying to be funny… sometimes).

I did notice, and I hate it when people with obvious French-Canadian names get themselves in any kind of trouble, since I am of that ethnic group. Two is two too many.
However, there was a teacher in New Hampshire several years ago (I can’t remember her name — not French or it would have stuck) who enticed her teenage lover to murder her husband… and he did. And they got caught. Now, that’s the ultimate in manipulation.
The Letourneau woman ended up marrying her lover when he became of age — I wonder where that all ended up.

All I can say is, she’s lucky it wasn’t my 15 yr old son she was found with.
A child predator is a child predator, and these female child predators are becoming an all to familiar headline, what a disgrace.
I’m "late" on this one, but years back we learned that "very soon" we’d be seeing a great increase in female predators, because they have been so seriously abused. Well, here we are!
What we are hearing about, as usual, is the male predators are keeping on, keeping on, and when we see a young female acting out, sexually, there’s usually early male abuse in her past. Sad, sad, sad.
