Liz Smith: He's Not Worth My Time

Liz Smith

I will leave the worst president in our history to heaven. Nothing will be served in making him face up to being a war criminal. And a liar and traducteur of the constitution. Let us move on.

Thank you, Liz. History will prove that Bush, Cheney and Rumsfield should have gone to prison for what they did to our Constitution…

Diana, not necessarily… the winners write history, so whoever wins this fight for the take over of our government, the People or the Power Elite, that will dictate what history says. That’s why investigations are so important, it’s an official way to shine light on what has been perpetrated by Bush/Cheney/Rumsfield, and then it’s written in history.

JCB, It is not necessary to explain to me how history is written. I know how it is written, and I stand by my posting and commend Liz Smith for her comments.

Someone who goes by “GT” responded to your remarks on the Nevin post by yapping about the number of drug-related murders on our streets being greater than the deaths in Iraq, as if you can compare one to the other. I believe Bush and Cheney, especially, should be tried for war crimes. And Obama and Congress will need to reverse all the infringements on personal liberties that Bush imposed during his reign, and close air-tight all the loopholes he used to break privacy laws.

Come on Liz, what part of the Constitution exactly? And Constitution is capitalized, but a half-wit writer like yourself wouldn’t know that anyway.

Tracy Trempt - are you actually Dick Cheney?

Tracy, perhaps denigrating souls such as yourself drive Liz Smith to her wit’s end, but Ms. Smith rises from the occasion to offer wit and wisdom, while you seem to want the world to suffer the slings and arrows of your outrageou fortune. I’m guessing that you’rd more complex than this post reflects. Peace and grace

Why do you call her “a half-wit writer”?

I disagree. Would you say nothing was served by making WWII war criminals face up to their crimes? Making him face up to his crimes by at the very least, putting them down in writing in a public hearing, helps to prevent future war crimes by future presidents.

JC B—-While I appreciate Liz and the others for their desire to move on….I agree with you and hope that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld et al should be indicted for war crimes. And I hope that The Hague does it.

… also, it is our responsibility to the rest of the world to hold our leaders accountable for their war crimes for two reasons. One, the war crimes committed by our government effect the rest of the world, not just those whom the crimes were specifically against. Two, we expect the rest of the world to hold their own leaders accountable for war crimes therefore have no right to say we can just let it go when our government commits war crimes.
