Take good care of your body, and it will perform for you. My older body is more "shapely" than my young angular body. I didn’t realize how much being raised in California affected my healthy diet, until I moved back east and have been faced with Philly cheesesteaks. Yikes.
Hi Liza … Attitude hits the nail on the head. We - the women over 40 - have been hit so hard by the media that it how good we look that is what it is all about. . . when you and I know that what really can shine for all to see is the person we are inside. If we feel good about ourselves - our authentic selves and not the "shell" we are so brainwashed about - others are attracted to us. Those who judge us by our shoes, our handbag, our well-kept but a bit overweight bodies, do we really want to know them anyhow??? Making fast judgments, shallowness, mark these people. We just must believe in ourselves, feel wonderful about the persons we are, and we will attract the Lizas in our lives - and all the others who have their heads screwed on right! It is always a delight to know you!!!! Joan
BODY LAMENT
Yesterday the mirror reflected
a body that has been perfected
by vigorous exercise and careful intake.
Today, however, I’m in a funk, for goodness sakes!
cuz that same old mirror shows bulges and sags!
How, I wonder, could this happen? Going from riches back to rags.
Great cartoon! You struck a never with me, Liza. My older body grumbles a lot, but I still I can still talk it into taking me wherever I want to go.
