Longtime Aide Ted Kaufman Takes Biden's Senate Seat

Joe Biden has been replaced — in Delaware, that is.
As we all know, the vice president-elect has to relinquish his Senate seat in order to move into the White House, and Gov. Ruth Ann Minner today installed longtime Biden aide Ted Kaufman into the spot.
Kaufman’s has served as Biden’s chief of Senate staff for the last 19 years, and has recently been working on the soon-to-be veep’s transition team. In addition to those duties, Kaufman has been a charter member of the Broadcasting Board of Governors since 1995 and acts as a senior lecturing fellow at Duke University.
Biden’s definitely happy about the decision, and today released a statement in which he described Kaufman as "a man of first-rate qualifications, unquestioned integrity and a longtime commitment to public service.” Biden also assured voters that "Delaware will be in very good hands" now that Kaufman’s taken his senatorial position. Well, we should hope so!
