Madonna’s divorce from Guy Ritchie likely could get ugly. And Kabbalah may be to blame.

A friend of Madonna tells MSNBC that we should expect “ugliness of epic proportions” in the divorce, because the Material Girl’s “got Kabbalah on her side.”

"Here’s how it works: she’s got a team of Kabbalah advisers who guide her through her spiritual decisions. If they say something is justified, then she feels comfortable going ahead and doing it,” the friend told MSNBC. “That was the litmus test she applied to spending time with A-Rod, that’s how she justifies making references to Guy at concerts … It’s only going to get worse (the public jabs) if Kabbalah greenlights it. Expect ugliness of epic proportions.”

At her October 15 concert in Boston, just before performing “Miles Away,” Madonna announced, “This song is for the emotionally retarded. Maybe you know some people who fall into that category. I know I do.”

As for Ritchie, he’s not looking to Kabbalah to get through this rough time with his family.

“I don’t really understand Kabbalah as a religion,” Ritchie told Extra at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. A regular at the Kabbalah Centre in New York and L.A., he adds that he has been less and less involved over the years. “Guy would come to the Centre in New York from time to time, but his involvement was nothing like what it was years ago. It definitely was something he was going along with for Madonna.

"He never seemed as interested in it as she was,” says the Kabbalah source.

News reports say today that Madonna will give Ritchie $25 million in their divorce settlement — but he can’t ever speak publicly about their marriage. Ritchie, 40, has agreed to the deal, which also gives him full access to their sons Rocco, 8, and adopted son David Banda, 3. Madonna is worth about $750 million. She also has a daughter Lourdes, 12, by fitness trainer Carlos Leon.

Ritchie told friends he is "hugely relieved" and leaving the broken marriage "a happier man.”

Ritchie will own their $25 million estate in Wiltshire, while Madonna will keep the couple’s $17.5 million townhouse in Marylebone in central London.

"He just wants out,” a source close to Ritchie told The Melbourne Herald Sun, adding that Ritchie has had enough of the Madonna “circus.”

"The most important things to him are having full access to his kids, whom he adores, and a quiet life.”

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail reports that Madonna’s "soul mate" Alex Rodriguez is buying a New York penthouse apartment two blocks from hers on Central Park West.

“Alex knows that this is a difficult time for Madonna, especially as she has children,” a source told The Daily Mail. “So he thought this was the best way to be close to her without being too intrusive. He is completely into her and willing to be patient while she sorts everything out.”

Madonna, 50, also reportedly wants to have a baby with Rodriguez, the Mail says.

A friend said: “She thinks he’s physically a great specimen. And if she is going to have another child, he would be the ideal man to bring one to her.”

Madonna and the Yankees slugger have so far kept their relationship a secret.
