Madeleine Albright as Ambassador to France?

Madeleine Albright may be far from retirement.

France’s Nouvel Observateur this week hinted that President Obama may appoint Albright as special ambassador to France, according to Examiner.com. Albright, who has also been advising Obama on foreign affairs, served as secretary of state during the Clinton administration, as well as UN ambassador. She was the first woman secretary of state in U.S. history.

Albright has definitely kept herself busy with and involved in the Obama administration. During the Obama administration’s transition into office, she and former Rep. Jim Leach, R-IA, met with representatives of at least 15 major world powers and key U.S. allies in Washington for a global economic summit.

Prior to her UN job, Albright served as a foreign policy adviser to then-vice-presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro in 1984 and to presidential candidate Michael Dukakis in 1988. Albright is well liked in France. She is fluent in French, Czech, Russian and even knows a bit of Polish and Serbo-Croatian. She is frequently on the speaking circuit, and currently serves as the Mortara Distinguished Professor of Diplomacy at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.

Whether the ambassador rumors are true or not, we think she’s a great choice!

DEAR SITE MONITOR - Please read this comment as well. Congratulations, Anita. You have posted on Wow 45 times now, and have managed to get 13 of your comments deleted, due to violating the Ten Commandments of Posting on Wow’s website. I find your posts offensive and insulting at best. And this one is disgusting. You seem to take such pleasure in being snarky. I hope that unless you grow up, and choose to post intelligently, instead of attacking people all of the time, that you are permanently deleted from posting on this website. You cannot change people by criticizing them, by attacking them. I like the Wow website. I appreciate having this forum. I have been here almost since the beginning. I think that most who post and/or read this website enjoy intelligent discourse. People like you waste space here, and bring the enjoyment level of readership on this website Down. You don’t care about contributing intelligent thoughts here. You just want to incite people in a negative way. You just want to get in the ring and go round and round. When the bell rings, you slump onto your stool in the corner … have someone pour a bucket of water on your head, take your gloves off and re-tape your fingers, put your mouth guard back in and push you back in the ring.
