Obama’s speech in Grant Park. I wept.

His victory speech was sweet. So, I’m sure, was the champagne sipped by the Detroit Red Wings last June after they won their fourth Stanley Cup since 1997.

First, the thought that a woman might actually get elected to the Presidency. Second, the realization that in the U.S.A., according to history, black males have had a slight edge over white women when it comes to rights and access. Third, the miracle of a black man actually being elected to the Presidency! If it can’t be Hillary Clinton, then far better to have Barack Obama than the alternatives. Fourth, then I came to realize we really do need Barack Obama as President in this country to lay the way for hopeful change, a new direction, and the future of women. Hillary’s speech of support of President - Elect Obama was a driving force toward his election, which gave that much more creedence to his becoming the next President of the United States of America! All in all, I know with President Obama there will be many struggles ahead for us, simply because of the lack and failures of this past administration. The unnecessary war, the huge debt and deficit, and the lost jobs and businesses which were wrought by the present administration, will truly be a challenge for the change which is so needed right now. GOD BLESS AMERICA! I can finally say that again - It was so difficult for me over the past eight years. NOW, I can once again hold my head up high as a proud American, and we can all enjoy more the respect of the nations of the world.
