Marlo Thomas's (Thankfully) Missing Movie Plots

Marlo Thomas
I’m enjoying a deliberate hiatus from reading, watching and attending any sort of events, having just survived a solid election year of reading, watching and attending everything in sight. Except for the stack of screening DVDs that Academy members get every Christmas to vote on the Oscars. Thank God none of the movies this year has anything to do with angry ministers, Alaskan moose-killers or plumbers named Joe.

Thank God none of the movies this year has anything to do with angry ministers, Alaskan moose-killers or plumbers named Joe.” No, just a crazy psychopathic clown, a man who ages backwards…and Mike Myers as a “love guru”? In point of fact, though, there have been some truly great films this year, some even coming from unexpected quarters - who would have imagined Jean-Claude Van Damme and Mickey Rourke turning in Oscar-caliber performances…?

Yes I’m thankful to finely have some time to get away from it all and go camping with my family. Their the most important in my life.

Margo - you are always so refreshingly on point! I’m suffering from post-election fatigue, too. I only want to see lighthearted movies and read silly books. (Except for Team of Rivals, which is fabulous!)
