Juanita, if Bush would have taken a little time from his many vacationsand allowed a little time to listen to a briefing that would have alerted him to the 9/11 threat months prior to it happening. It was his failure at his job and bullheadedness that put us in this unsafe situation. He could have kept us safe from 9/11! There were so many failings in our security, visas, flight school warnings that went ignored and unattended to - repeatedly. And our world would then not have changed forever into this terrible one we have now have to pass on to our children. Friends in Mexico referred to Bush as “The devil” before 9/11 happened. It doesn’t surprise me the position he holds on the worlds most hated list. Something about him ain’t right! Someone referred to the dignity he brings to the office!??? Have you ever watched him greet the Pope, dance, belly bump a graduating officer , listen to him speak???? He is a baffoon - nothing dignified about him one bit. Shame on you for supporting him , voting for him —-TWICE! You are more to blame than him. He’s just a moron who ran for president- you voted for him to be the president.

I do think it would be a wonderful gift to the President to have the courage to admit defeat and step down. An early retirement would probably be good for the whole family. In some ways I feel sorry for the guy. He just went into the family business; I wish his father had been a carpenter or electrician instead of a politician. GWB might have actually turned out ok then. I don’t think he would have run on his own had his father not been president. And he would not have been selected if his father had not been president. I remember that there was one poll in Florida in 2000 that showed that 4% of the voters thought they were voting for the father.

Good point Elizabeth- Nixon eara has that bit of integrity over Bush’s reign - Nixon was facing impeachment & did step down - Bush NEVER would and Pelosi protected him from impeachment. Of course we would then be left with Cheney running the show- Heaven help us! It isn’t good to wish your life away - but I can’t wait until January 20th!

Marlo you look marvelous.. more beautiful than ever.. I think our incompetent disaster of a president should take a moment on his birthday to consider all the pain death and suffering he has inflicted on the world so carelessly.. He will always be remembered as the “torture president” , a complete failure as a leader whose incompetent choices to staff his administration allowed what never would have happened with a competent leader, even Nixon had competent professionals guarding our security. His insecurity showed the worst side of him when he made partisan loyalty the criteria for a key job in what used to be the “peoples” govenment .. allowing 9/11 to happen.. on his watch.. He delegated the important roles of the presidency to his VP darth vader and I guess no one should be surprised with oil men in charge ,that oil has increased almost ten fold in price since he was selected president in 2000. Lets all say a little prayer on his birthday that cheney’s plan of starting another war before they vacate the premises will not come to fruition .. because frankly I can’t afford to pay $10 a gallon for gas.. and I think the tens of thousands of American casualties he is responsible for so far ,in his war sold on selected information from unreliable, paid (and handsomely) informants is already far to high a price to pay for his chickenhawk vanity..

Marlo is unbelievably beautiful. Someone above said Bush has kept us safe since 9/11. Yeah, right. We weren’t so safe on 9/11, were we? The man has turned so many countries against us because of his provocative, never-ending war that paints America as an imperialist nation. A true patriot would recognize how much harm Bush has done to the United States. The Big 3 automakers were crying out for help, and Bush postponed three consecutive meetings with them. The manufacturing industries were reeling like never before, hundreds of thousands of jobs were lost - mainly in the Midwest - and that moron Bush acted like he wasn’t even aware, never mentioning it until a campaign swing through Ohio and Michigan in the fall of 2004. While Bush is spending trillions of dollars on nation-building in Iraq, our economy is in free-fall at home. He’s mortgaged the future for generations to come. But, hey, let’s wave the red, white and blue because he’s our president. Never mind the irretractable damage he’s done.

Ditto James and Della. Danny and Marlo Thomas have been and done nothing but good for people. He is not my president, I wave the red, white and blue for the Founding Fathers and their ideals.

Things could be worse. We could have Phil Donahue for a president. George has been a dupe. It is time for him to go, but I do not look forward to a leftist administration. Be careful for what you wish for.

Mr. Donahue would be a great president. But because he was a wise enough person to realize that fools like you outnumber the intelligent people in the United States, he would be dooming himself to years of dealing with ignorance on your level. So he found another way to serve. The Republicans and the military-industrial-corporate state have left our country in tatters and tears, Mr. Lynch, and another eight years will utterly destroy us. The most brilliant thing about Osama Bin Laden is that he used our own ignorance against us — our own planes in 9/11, and then just sat back and watched us destroy ourselves. We’ve squandered our resources to the tune of trillions of dollars borrowed to pursue an illegal and unjust war, and the result is using the Bill of Rights and Constitution as toilet paper in the White House and $4.99/gal. gas in California. If you can’t think, Mr. Lynch, please don’t vote. The rest of our lives are depending on it.

After watching a clip of Phil Donahue’s remarkable “Body of War” (http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/03212008/profile.html), I’d vote him to an Administrative post right now. There are good Republicans, to be sure, but anyone who supports prolonging the “war” in Iraq doesn’t understand how it is crippling our country. I don’t have quite as much of a problem with Bush pushing the conflagration in Afghanistan, home base to those who attacked us on 9/11.

What are the statutes of limitations on war crimes? Just send me to a site to read about it. How do you feel about what it would do to the country? I ask this with all transparency in that I want to know what you..you all..think. Remember the fortune cookie that has a weird translation for “out of sight, out of mind”? It’s “invisible idiot”..I think I would prefer that he be that.
