Marlo Thomas on St. Jude Hospital and Donations

Marlo Thomas
I’m the National Outreach Director for St. Jude Hospital, so my charitable giving schedule is what you’d call 24/7/365. And I have a short list of women and children’s charities I give to annually. The slowdown we’re seeing is in the purchase of high-end tables at our events.

Again let me ask the question that NOBODY at St.Jude or Marlo seems to want to answer.WHY did St.Jude turn down the only drug trial in America with 6 five year survivors of childrens Brainstem Glioma when St.Jude has saved none from this tumor. This is the THIRD time I have asked this question in this forum. No disrespect Randy to your sincere question, but I think this is the wrong forum to pose such a question - and puts Marlo in an unfair position. I certainly don’t mean to over-step my place and speak for her or that wonderful hospital, but just expressing my own thoughts here, since this is an open forum. Hence, I respect your sincere question. Her role is to promote St. Jude, so that this non-profit Children’s Hospital can survive and thrive. I do understand that you’ve purportedly brought this matter to the attention of certain people, and have not received the answers you’d like. But I’ll stand by St. Jude’s Christian record of doing life-saving research on an unfathomable scale, year after year.
