McCain Fires Back at Madonna for Hitler Comparison

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Madonna isn’t starting off her 50s quietly. Just ask John McCain.

The pop diva kicked off her world tour in Cardiff, UK, on Sunday with a concert that put the Republican presidential hopeful in the same category as Adolf Hitler and Zimbabwe strongman Robert Mugabe. The swipe came during a performance of the song "Get Stupid," when McCain’s image was flashed up alongside images of destruction, global warming and the two aforementioned men.

Another sequence, later shown to the event’s 40,000 attendees, pictured slain Beatle John Lennon, followed by climate activist Al Gore, Mahatma Gandhi and Barack Obama.

John McCain’s campaign hit back at Madonna on Sunday.

"The comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time," McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds said in a statement. "It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits."

OMG, how can anybody associated with the McSwiftboat campaign have the gall to call anything said or done by any Obama supporter a smear? There are just no limits to their hypocrisy.

A) Does Madonna’s opinion sway anyone? and B) Does a Hitler analogy ever work?

Sherrie, It all about keeping a straight face. The democrats need to look in a mirror and practice for a while.

I think Madonna’s hair dye has seeped a little beyond the root. It’s one thing to oppose McCain and quite another to compare him to the likes of Hitler or Mugabe, and all while singing “Get stupid”……..To that end, she did

Elaine, kinda like that Ludicrous guy. Somehow Obama supporters think this helps their cause. Meanwhile, Obama is floundering to keep even with McCain. I don’t get it.

Yep Marjorie, So true. I had that BOZO on one of my flights a few years back, just before he became a so called sensation. He acted on the plane trip like he was King tut….I in no uncertain terms let him know he was nothing more than a thug with all that “Rap Crap” Ha! It’s sad that this is the best the Obamarama show can produce…Ooop’s I forgot Obama girl…Now there’s a winner, LOL

I’m an Obama supporter, as you know, and I totally want all the entertainers to just shut up. They do not help, they hurt. The comparison to Hitler is ludicrous… when will people realize that Hitler references do not work, they are inflamitory, and make YOU look ridiculous. From Madonna, no less !!! JEEZ !

Greetings, Elaine. It was a boring convention night, until Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama got up there and gave riveting speeches. I appreciate anyone who can give a good speech, regardless of the issues. It’s the ability to sound like you’re speaking from the heart, not reading from a teleprompter, using your diaphragm when you speak, looking across the audience and using well-time gestures to drive home your point. I was telling someone on another thread that, if Barack Obama wants to ensure Hillary & Bill’s continued support heading into the homestretch, he might have to help absorb some of the $11 million personal debt that Hillary incurred during the primary campaign. That might be a bigger burr under her saddle than all the talk about Obama snubbing Hillary by not vetting her for the VP role. What a lot of the talking heads on TV don’t realize is that a former First Lady doesn’t need to be vetted for anything - she was already in the White House eight years. No, the real bone of contention, I suspect, is the $11 mill.

Greetings to you my friend, I agree, it was boring…For me the whole thing. I mean they all just get up there and say the same ole same ole, Ha! I think the whole thing was a fiasco in regards to the way Hillary was tossed under the bus (For lack of a better explaination). I also don’t for one minute, believe that Barack ever intended nor intends to help her with bringing down her debt, I believe he came out when that was first brought to the public’s attention, asking his people to donate on-line, but think about it…….His people had no more intention with helping Hillary than I would have an intrest in a labotomy! A real catch 22, let’s set the life ring on the shore line but don’t throw it out to her, then if anyone comes by it’l look as if we tried! He knew his people would not donate enough to alleviate her debt. He got the DNC behind him for the simple fact, he was a “male” heir to the office of the presidency. Do I think the good ole white boy’s in DC really wanted a black man to join their club? Hell to the no! But anything was better than allowing a female to sit on the throne. Besides, they can hook those puppeteer strings up to him far eaiser than they ever could a woman…Especially a woman by the name of Hillary. There has been alot of back bitting behind closed doors between these two, Hillary & Barack and it has always managed to spill over in to view of the public. So that part will not change and again, very little if any to do with paying off her debt. As far as Michelle, I lost all respect for her, when in the very begining, she opened her mouth and stated “How can she (Hillary) take care of the White House, when she can’t even take care of her own house”? This was a direct attack on Hillary because of Bill’s flandering, as if it were Hillary’s fault that Bill would find other uses for a cigar aside from smoking them. I was infurriated when she said that as I don’t think most people got that statement or were able to read between the lines of it, as because, I heard no OOOH’s & AHHH’s from the news media. Or maybe like the song “Can’t touch that”……They did’nt want to go there. I would really like to see a change in the way the Dem’s run their party’s organization, i.e. Let them all run to the end instead of centering the focus on the amount of states won, and more towards the popular vote. That being the case……. Hillary would have taken it! :)

Elaine, I agree that Obama needs to help Hillary out a little with the $11 million personal debt she accrued during the primary campaign, or risk losing the Clintons’ help in the homestretch - and the election. You hit the nail on the hit in regard to the need for Democrats not to be blinded again by the popular vote, at the expense of garnering the necessary electoral votes to win. Having Hillary fully on board as a vocal campaigner in Sept. & Oct. might be enough to wrap up the large, key Midwest states/electoral votes Obama needs: Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania. He’s come this far, and has received many millions in fund-raising support. Regardless of whether it’s right or wrong to help Hillary deal with her debt, Obama shouldn’t be penny wise and pound foolish.

GO GO girl!

I don’t think comparing the current regime to megalomaniacal dictators is all that far off the mark. The only difference is in the degree transparent ruthlessness.

Sherrie - Spoken very well - or should I say written? The Bush regime can’t exit their destructive ways too soon to suit me!

Gee, Did we miss something here? I thought it was an article on Madge comparing McCain to the likes of Hitler and Mugabe. Let’s stay on task. Oh…And when did McCain kill thousands and thousands of Jews in concentration camps, or suit up and fight alongside Mugabe?

Ok so basically Sharon and Sherrie you want us to believe that the Bush administration was like Hitler? Seriously? Or that McCain being President would be like Hitler and Mugabe…Come on ladies, please! Times have been rough and I would love to see how Gore would of handled 9/11 IF he was President…I guess the same way Clinton did when the USS Cole was bombed by Bin Laden…Nothing… Again all I have to say is IF Obama is elected President which I am still not convinced he will be b/c our Country is not ready, the same reason why Hilliary would not have been elected if she won the GOP but again when things don’t change as quickly as most want them too, who are we to blame them? With a Demo for Pres and a Demo for Congress…
