Meghan McCain Can't Find Date

Life isn’t easy for Meghan McCain, the 24-year-old daughter of former presidential candidate John McCain.

Yes, she’s young, wealthy, well educated, opinionated and attractive, but that doesn’t mean she’s advancing in the wild world of dating. In fact, McCain writes that this last election essentially dismantled her personal life because, well, it keeps coming up! Via The Daily Beast:

I know that no one can really explain sexual attraction and why you are drawn to someone or not — but at this point in time, nothing kills my libido quite like discussing politics. Here’s the biggest surprise: I am not only turned off by people who voted for Barack Obama, but I am also turned off by people that voted for my dad — or more so, obsessive supporters of my dad.

So to all the fathers out there: If you want your daughters to be single in her 20s, I can say this — run for president.

Hey, what about mothers?!

Anyway, we’re sure you’ll find the "right" man, Meghan. Just stop looking — that’s the real secret. Shhh!

She will find someone when the time is right, it must be difficult being the daughter of a Senator who ran for President as I’m sure she is bombarded with questions galore over that.  She seems like a very bright and honest young lady and she has plenty of time to find Mr Right down the road.

maybe she needs to go to some events for Ron Paul.  Maybe a more libertarian view might help cause if Rush is the new representation of what a good Conservative looks like I would tell her to dust off Nancy Reagans old line "Just Say No"

She’s turned off by people who voted for Obama? Well…well..well….. that is a very telling statement. I think my opinion of this young lady has now changed. Curious…..

I think she narrow her choose down to to few.   So now what? Maybe whe will only accept the undecided or third party?

Folks read the entire article and interview!!!  Once again WOW cherry picks the phrases they want to emphasize to slant the opinion their way……( this new journalism is killing me)

"Somewhere in between college and the election, I started allowing politics to dictate the kind of men I date. And the worst part is, it’s not just Obama supporters who turn me off—it’s often my father’s.

The election killed my personal life.

OK, maybe killed is a bit of an exaggeration. But it does seem to be on life support. Of all the things people warned would happen post-election, no one ever said anything about how complicated dating would become. Especially if your dad loses the election. There are things that have been difficult, but nothing quite as tough as dating. I fear the election has destroyed my ability and desire to date. Now, I cannot say at any point in my life that I have been very good at dating. But I have become something I used to despise: people who let politics dictate his or her attraction to someone."

"Folks read the entire article and interview!!!"

Excellent point, dear SJ.  But remember that even with the full information available, there are people who will STILL not be open to reading it and will take anything they can to try to prove their own point.

I promise to be more careful in the future if the other WOW posters will be too.

Thanks, SJ for a well needed reminder. nu

That is what happens when you parent is in the public eye that doesn’t have great handlers. They try to mess up personal lives of those running for office. Bush had good handlers. Look what happened. One daughter is married and the other is sure to follow.

I’m not a US citizen, but If I was, I would definately be a republican. no matter how democrats are good in blogging and show understanding of the youth. Democrats are masqurades and extremely dangerous people. they have no answers to the problems of the people of the united states, nor the people of the world. Remember this, America, is not like Germany, France, Russia, Iran or any other country in the world. It belongs to the people of the world and it’s the country that people of all colors and religions can feell themselvesat home. people of the united states, who are all directly or indirecty, immigrants from various countries, people who were lucky enough to be in united states and be a US citizen, they should never forget about other people around the world. they should never close their eyes to the tyrants who have no respect for human rights and their people’s rights. because, They could be one of them. Battlecries of no interering in world events and talk with regimes like Iran, is not an option for people of the free world, nor the government of the united states. Balacks maybe happy with BarakObama. some people maybe happy with the end of what they call "the Bush era". but remember. A lier like Obama as US president with such poisenous and extremely dangerous Ideas under the mask of liberalism, Can accelerate the falling of the United states of America and remember my word. I less than 40 years, If Democrats conitinue to win elections, the greatest country on eart will be tear apart and destroyed… physically! These days are not good days for republicas, but republicans are just and If God has any interest in the United states of America, help republicans to win again and save the country.

I’m very sorry for your attitude meghan! People with Democratic Ideas are not good for a girl like you nor republicans who turn their back to their party because of losing a campain. Value yourself. there are so many people around you and across the world who admire you DAD (of course he had some mistakes) and president Bush (He had mistakes too). but tell me something! Clinto the democrat, was he clean of any mistakes? can a man who betrays his wife with a young girl on ther the presidental desk in white house be a good leader? or you think Barak obama is clear of mistake?

America will continue to fall under the reign of Obama and nothing can stop this unless people of United states, value their roots again and vote for people who has frowny face but bright ideas to save them and save world

For someone who is not a citizen you sure seem  to have a lot of opinions on how this country has been run in the past and how it should be run in the future.

Meghan has nothing to worry about.  The daughter of an Heiress has her choice. She just better make careful choices. Most men do not want to talk to pretty girls about politics. They have other subjects on their minds..
