Meghan McCain Remains Mum on Palin

Meghan McCain has no qualms discussing her father John’s presidential campaign, but she’s not feeling very chatty when it comes to his controversial running mate, Sarah Palin.

Twenty-four-year-old McCain, who turned to blogging during the White House race, recently sat down for an interview with Monday Morning Clacker to ruminate on the presidential campaign, and highlighted some of her proudest moments. "I think I am most proud of the fact that I was able to get people involved in the political process that might not have been involved before; young people who were attracted to a political blog that doesn’t fit the traditional DC mold. I’m proud that young women approach me, tell me that my blog helped make the election accessible to them." Though her father didn’t win the presidency, Ms. McCain still insists she wouldn’t change a thing. "It was truly an invaluable experience and I sit here today as an incredibly proud daughter and member of the Republican Party.” That’s all well and good, but it’s clear McCain’s not loving all of her party sisters, like the aforementioned Sarah Palin.

When asked to share her thoughts on the one-time vice-presidential hopeful, Meghan offered a curt "no comment": "Sarah Palin is the only part of the campaign that I won’t comment on publicly." Well, that just means we’ll have to imagine what she thinks — and we imagine it’s not very flattering!

I didn’t take it that way. I believe she is a smart cookie who knows it is best not to comment pro or con against anyone especially if it pertains to her family. The media and extreme left and right would have a field day at her expense.

deber, I truly hope so, as I love Sarah and I felt she was wonderful, fresh and a vibrant woman and yes, capable. I was suprised, that as she was her fathers choice for VP, she didn’t at the least offer up a compliment towards Sarah. And, I wonder if there was some annomosity on her part, pertaining to all that campaing hoopla (infighting) over the division within the Rep camp?

THE PALIN BUNCH (sung to the theme of “The Brady Bunch) Here’s the story of a gal named Sarah Who was the Governor of State number 49. Then John McCain came lookin’ for a V.P. And that sounded just fine. Here’s the story of Todd the First Dude He had a D.U.I. and drove a snow machine. He couldn’t count to ten on his fingers With just his G.E.D. The election didn’t go the way they planned it Our girl Sarah couldn’t handle interviews. The media exposed her dearth of knowledge Except for Fox News and that blonde chick from The View. The Palin Bunch, the Palin Bunch That’s the way they became the Palin Bunch.

LOL Kevin… Thanks for this very funny and creative historical commentary! Now if we ever hear reports that McCain’s daughter has been caught humming the theme to The Brady Bunch… we’ll know why.

She is a loyal daughter to be sure….I always saw her as such, even during the campaign. Both she and her father are noticeably quiet on the subject of Sarah Palin, and honestly, I think that’s a smart move.

I see it as maybe these two women bump heads on some issues. I don’t think she was always so quite in fact I think there were time John wishes she was more quite but he need the family support. I will agree that she is a loyal daughter and a mother herself. Maybe she did like how Palin exposed her daughters so much during the campaign.

She does sound like a thoughtful woman. Sad that so many people are still addicted to Sarah Palin. What a waste of time…

I’m sure she is not contributing to the media trashing by adding anything that could be misconstrued. If you read her blog during the election…she was very supportive of Sarah and and high comments about the family as well. Even for Bristol saying she had empathy for the rumors as she had experienced some of that herself in her father previous campaign. As expceted even when you say nothing those who fear Palin are even twisting that into a negative!
