Michelle Obama Chooses a Jason Wu Design for Inauguration Night Gown

A young Manhattan designer gets the shock of his life when the new First Lady appeared on television wearing one of his gowns

Young Manhattan-based designer Jason Wu got the shock of his life around 8 pm EST while watching television. On the screen, Michelle Obama was wearing his one-shoulder, flowing, ivory-colored evening dress, looking very Ginger Rogers. Wu is saying he did not know Mrs. Obama was planning to wear his dress.  Ikram Goldman, owner of Chicago’s top boutique Ikram, sells Wu’s clothes and is Mrs. O’s fashion consultant.

No word on what kind of scandal this is in Chicago, where local designer Maria Pinto, who makes so many of Michelle Obama’s clothes, was favored to design the inaugural gown that will make history.

I didn’t care for the gown either. It just seemed to not only be ill fitting, but, it wasn’t … ‘regal enough.’ This is a once in a lifetime night, (you get only one first inauguration) and that dress did her no justice whatsoever.

The dress was a Fashion Disaster. White or ivory color and chiffon fabric never work on a statuesque person. It brought out the worst, in her case, the waist and derriere. Michelle needs serious advice for her clothes and if she wants to promote american designers, she should go with one echelon higher, designers with experience. Definitively she has to stay with black or dark colors at night.

Love her, love her husband, loved the dress. But I do so wish someone would teach her (and her daughters) how to walk in a more graceful manner.

I hope she didn’t pay more than $100 for that dress, because it was horrible. Personally, I think she’s gonna be Hillary revisited, maybe a little scarier because of the uncertainty’s revolving around her husband. Hopefully I’m wrong and they turn out to do good things for this country, but it’s already not looking good. Typical political posturing.

Sorry to say that this dress is A CRIME. It makes her look so fat. Please Michelle change your designer and choose a better one
