It’s the Hillary moment we’ve all been waiting for … again! Tonight the New York senator takes the stage at the Democratic Convention in Denver.

We couldn’t have said it better than The Washington Post, so we won’t try: "Hillary Rodham Clinton’s speech to the Democratic National Convention today is perhaps the most highly anticipated address (aside from Barack Obama’s acceptance speech) of the week," according to the Post’s report. We’ll definitely be watching the minute-to-minute coverage and sharing our reactions right here. Join the conversation.

UPDATE: 7:20 PM

We couldn’t help noticing during the "Women of the Senate" speeches just how terrific Senator Barbara Boxer sounds and looks. And what a stunning moment to see them all onstage at the end. Including their Republican counterparts, there are 16 women in the US Senate. What a wowOwow!

UPDATE: 8:00 PM

Responding to readers who mentioned they missed Dennis Kucinich’s fiery DNC speech, we’ve found it on You Tube and have embedded it below.

UPDATE 10:50 PM

Hillary Clinton addresses crowd to thunderous applause. Claiming that "now is the time to take back the country we love," Hillary says that she "hasn’t spent the last 35 years in the trenches to see another Republican in the White House" and calls for the party to unify behind Obama.

UPDATE 10:00 AM: wowOwow what a night!

It is a mystery to me why Obama didn’t choose Hillary for VP, I wonder if he is threatened by her power. I am hopeful Obama is able to solve all our problems. I keep hearing that the DEMS want change and where they want to make changes but I’m not hearing PLANS to make those changes. How will they do it all ?

Nora Ephron had an interesting piece about the Hillary in the Huffington Post. Read, and comment, at your own risk. :-) www.huffingtonpost.com/nora-ephron/hillary-the-admonisher_b_121791.html

Nora Ephron should stick to screenplays. Hillary was responding to issues that many of her supporters had expressed in countless sources, and did so eloquently, poignantly and graciously. She addressed their concerns and rallied their support to her competitor - who did NOT choose her as his running mate. And yet, this is not enough. As Mathew Sheffield said, if you tell people how to feel, you’ve lost them. If you acknowledge how they feel, address it and appeal to them, you have them. I think this assessment is accurate, I think she did that - but people want more. Obama supporters who admonish Clinton supporters to “suck it up” should consider this carefully. Are they trying to be right, or are they trying to win? No one will sway my politics with name calling or insults.

Kitty, On another subject. I got my UCLA extension catalog out finally and Davidson is teaching a really interesting class, but it is designed for professionals. I think I might take a different one first because his class sounds like I need more background first. Want to do both. Really want to nail this, and take more control over my money.

That’s terrific, Frannie. I’m so happy that you’re doing this for yourself. If I can be of any help to you, please don’t hesitate to ask. All the best to you, my friend.

Kitty, I refuse to go read what Ephron wrote if it’s one more cricism of Hillary’s brilliant speech. I can’t even imagine how it could be ‘not enough’. I can’t even imagine how it could possibly have been any better than it was. She had me in tears. She was magnificent! She has only just begun to make her mark on America. I can not wait to see what kind of power she will wield with an Obama administration. It is very exciting!

I was never a Clinton supporter. I followed Hillary’s political ‘career’ when I lived in the metropolitan Washington, DC area, and following Whitewater, there were more question raised about her integrity than there were answers. The fallout left a lot of negative political buzz in Washington about Hillary. Afterward, I never trusted her. During the primaries, I favored Biden on the Democratic ticket, and Mike Hucklebee on the Republican ticket. I never considered Obama until recently, primarily because I knew nothing about him. I confess, I had doubts about whether Clinton would come through last night with the strength to accomplish what needed to be done: appease and thank her supporters, emphasize the importance of party unity, thrash McCain/Bush domestic and foreign policies, state the objectives of the Democratic party, quell the fears of struggling middle Americans, and stating emphatically that she would support Obama. I wondered how someone of Hillary’s stature - her ambition, intelligence, zeal, and ego would emerge having come so close to winning the Democratic nomination. In fact, I wondered how both Clintons would fend their deep hurt, disappointment, and resentment, especially since they believed that the media treated Hillary unfairly during the primaries. After all, they are flesh and blood, I kept reminding myself. And, for Hillary to have to harness the inner strength to give a ‘belieavable’ speech to support her rival at the DNC, which should have been a night for her rival to introduce HER … well, I imagined it had to be a mighty test of deep humility. Oh my! Last night, my doubts were laid to rest. HILLARY WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. The truth is, I though she looked ‘presidential’. AND, she looked stunning!. The bags under eyes were gone, and she didn’t look haggard. In fact, the choice of pant suits was a good one. Ha! Most everyone here at wOw has expressed the well deserved praise I felt about Hillary’s speech last night. What I would add is that, no matter what happens in November, especially if Obama looses, NO ONE can point a finger at Hillary for not doing her part to unite the Democratic Party behind Obama. More importantly, I would echo what Jacob Weisberg and others said last night on Charlie Rose. Hillary Clinton is now in a much better position to win the Democratic ticket in 2012 or 2014. And, IF, this was indeed her motive, she accomplished it well … probably more effective than proving ‘beyond a doubt’ that she is behind Obama, which David Brooks and others mentioned. Hillary certainly ‘redeemed’ herself last, and Bill Clinton will also shine well when he delivers his speech tonight. Hillary Clinton was triumphant.

I just read Jonathan Weisman’s WASHINGTON POST feature that Hillary Clinton released her delegates prior roll call later this afternoon. Her pledged delegates are now free to vote for whom ever they please. And, Hillary is pleading that everyone rally behind Obama. I cannot now imagine anyone questioning Hillary Clinton’s genuine, sincere - and impassioned desire to end division within the Democratic Party. Hillary is proving that she has grace and true leadership qualities. How admirable!

Sen. Clinton has had grace and true leadership qualities for the past 35 years, and has shown them through thick and thin, time and again, in public and private dealings. It is nice to see people actually finally waking up to who she is.
