'Tamron Hall, the Magic Negro Anchor Lady' (Video)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

You go, girl! MSNBC’s anchor Tamron Hall weighed in on the controversial song, "Barack the Magic Negro," saying she wouldn’t find it funny if someone called her "Tamron Hall the Magic Negro Anchor Lady." The anchor was hosting a segment discussing RNC chairman candidate Chip Saltsman’s Christmas greeting this year that contained a CD with the song "Barack the Magic Negro." Hall listened to Kate Obenshain, vice president of Young America’s Foundation, defend the song, calling it "a parody." Then Hall, an African American, interjected, saying there is nothing "funny or amusing" about it. She later told Obenshain, "You’re not going to win a lot of people over calling them ‘Magic Negros.’" Watch below (via ThinkProgress):

Diana, don’t you think if Lincoln were alive today he would be a Democrat? He wouldn’t touch the Republican Party of 2008 with a 10 foot pole.

Yes, DeB, I agree.

Just as I clicked, I thought that I would be surprised if Goldwater didn’t drop out of the party and become an Independent. He was appalled at the social parts of the platform; i.e. freedom of choice, birth control, etc.

Goldwater would be considered a Liberal Democrat by today’s GOP standards.

This from a woman who thinks Caroline Kennedy is the smartest woman in new York! yikes!” Don’t misquote me. If you don’t have a legitimate opinion to voice, don’t bother me with posts that are accusing me of saying things I never said. Either you have me confused with someone else, or you’re just being obnoxious about this, but it’s the second time you’ve done it.

It is a pretty tasteless parody and unbecoming of someone who is an official of the RNC. Below is a link to the article they are mocking, however, without putting it in context it is pretty offensive. The LA Times should be criticized as well. We should all be well beyond this kind of thing. http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oe-ehrenstein19mar19,0,5335087.st…

Lucinda, I don’t see it as a true “parody”. When you have to take a lot of time explaining the Why of something like this, chances are it’s not what they are trying to make it. As I’ve said to Frank on several occasions, these people are time warps stuck in an era when this type of thing was considered “cute”. The old jocko-country club man of the 50-60’s who did use the term Negro, etc. But, then the guy who wrote it seems like he is a rather tone deaf type and could care less. If he gains popularity as a result of this “parody”, it tells me a lot about the party itself. And, I stand by my previous statement to someone else, this is not the party of Lincoln anymore. And, you are correct—-shame on the LATimes for the original article, or whatever it was…

Unfortunately they are starting to back Saltsman within the party and are putting down the party members who complained about him. There is an article in Politico by Andy Barr telling where they were more upset by bad reactions to the giving of the recording than the recording itself. These people deserve to keep losing.

Ok…you know this is just stupid. A grown man made that up? A grown man? That is something that I really can’t wrap my thoughts around. There is no need for that kind of stupidity in this world YET its all over the place. You know I chuckled, not b/c of the song, but b/c a GROWN MAN THOUGHT OF THAT & NOW ITS OUT IN THE PUBLICAND ON THE NEWS. Don’t give them the time of day…the media just fed into what they wanted. They wanted it talked about. There are some who think any kind of news is great, whether it makes them look bad or not. I agree not all Reps are like this idiot and he should really be ashamed.

Republicans are still stinging from the way Obama smoked em—this is their little impotent, sissy slap in the face to Obama. Rove thought all his finagling with votes would work but Obama had so many, many votes that even Rove’s cheating couldn’t stop Obama from winnning. They couldn’t get away with just rigging the election this time so their Repub candidate wins by 1% of the vote again, because Obama was so far ahead of McCain—leading by 7 or 8 percentage points. That type of cheating only works if the candidates are close in the polls. Although the Repubs busted their guts (like on Hannity etc) trying to convince people McCain was close to Obama in the polls right before the election—knowing it was a lie. And the election proved it WAS a lie. We MUST get rid of these electronic voting machines—experts the world over all say they can be easily rigged. We can save a heck of a lot of money by just using paper ballots & hand counting them with observers watching the process. That’s the only way to guarantee every vote is counted properly.

The GOP wants to be the KKK Party. The Republican Party is dead.

FYI Henley, they DID predict Obama would win—with the caveat that it may be that people only SAID they’d vote for Obama so no one would know they were “racist”, but then they actually would NOT vote for him. But that didn’t happen—in fact I heard the oppoiste. That people said they’d vote for McCain, but they really voted for Obama. Obama had more money to spend because more people & corporations backed him. Its not bad to have more money—it shows you’re successful. Other countries use paper ballots & count them by hand & it works well & is cheap. Every precinct has volunteers & election judges—it is relatively easy to get an accurate count—-plus, the ballots are all still there for the recount if needed. The only problem left is making sure they don’t shred the absentee ballots if they are not in favor of a certain candidate. They do that all the time too since no one will ever know they didn’t count it. They also throw away certain voter registration cards so the new voters don’t know til they show up on election day that there was a “snafu” & hey-they can’t vote. They should vote on a saturday or sunday like they do in other countries to make it easier to get to the polls too..

When the shoe is on the other foot it is ok though. Obama won in caucus states where not every one gets a opportunity to participate.
