'Tamron Hall, the Magic Negro Anchor Lady' (Video)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

You go, girl! MSNBC’s anchor Tamron Hall weighed in on the controversial song, "Barack the Magic Negro," saying she wouldn’t find it funny if someone called her "Tamron Hall the Magic Negro Anchor Lady." The anchor was hosting a segment discussing RNC chairman candidate Chip Saltsman’s Christmas greeting this year that contained a CD with the song "Barack the Magic Negro." Hall listened to Kate Obenshain, vice president of Young America’s Foundation, defend the song, calling it "a parody." Then Hall, an African American, interjected, saying there is nothing "funny or amusing" about it. She later told Obenshain, "You’re not going to win a lot of people over calling them ‘Magic Negros.’" Watch below (via ThinkProgress):

You do have a point re the federal financing limits. Obama opted out after he had said he wouldn’t. Obama raised somewhere near $600 million during his campaign, of which $260 million were donations less than $200—way more than McCain raised.. However, in Obama’s defense, he probably would not have won without the big money—which was a good reason to decide to take it. Remember John Kerry? He had no money left to defend himself when the Republicans “swiftboated” him. Obama learned from that & didn’t want it to happen to him.The only thing they could get on Obama was the minister & the Ayres thing. He had plenty of money to fight them, so it didn’t work. It is a shame to waste that much money on advertising in our presidential campaigns, we will need to legislate reform if it ever happens—but our legislators are not going to do it for obvious reasons, unless we push them to. You’ll never hear much about it from our US media—because they are the ones benefiting from all the expensive TV ads! BIG TIME! They say that during election years, the stations buy new cameras & equipment with all the extra money & generally refurbish.

Now if Jib-Jab or SNL did it….they’ve made it at least witty and funny….it isn’t even that…just really pathetic and lame…i.e. some of the Palin send-ups were actually funny and well done as was this send-up of Obama and Hillary: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=hillary+and+obama+umbrella&s… What is amusing is watching the GOP in their tasteless implosion….although I must admit our side hasno shortage of jerks too, Gov of Ill, Spitzer, etc. Politics. It never ends.

The GOP’s White Supremacy “…All of this stupidity, and hatred, is a symptom of the larger problem for the Republican Party: it is utterly unrepresentative of America in the 21st century.” Read the whole article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/paul-jenkins/the-gops-white-supremacy_b_15…

Magic Negro? Well, let’s see what “Barack the Magic Negro” does in regard to cleaning up the mess left behind by 8 years of mismanagement by George W. Bush. Negro, Black, African American, whatever you want to call him Chip Saltsman, just as long as you preface it with President. I know that irks you, but oh well….deal with it.

Maybe this would now apply to this. “What is the difference between the Republican Party and the Boy Scouts?….ans: The Boy Scouts have adult leadership.” I cannot believe this adult childishness.

I personally don’t see anything thing wrong with the word Negro. If you go back historically, it was the Negros who proved to be very positive and up lifting and great achievers with high moral standards and family values. Many of the “say it loud am black and proud” or the so-called “African-Americans”, are weak minded and cowards and have allowed that Big Government, Jessie Jackson mentality to erode there pride of self and who they are. They have turn to the liberal Democratic Party to make them slaves to Big Government. how sad some of us have become. Obama wishes he was a Negro!

Lori, You don’t see anything wrong with the term Negro? Really? In 2008 you feel the term has its place and is not offensive or outdated? The only area in America that the term Negro can or should be used without objection is when the organization NAACP is being discussed. If Black folks are among themselves discussing family and friends you may overhear “that Negro is crazy!” said in jest. Short of these scenarios, I strongly suggest that you keep your comments about the word Negro being acceptable to yourself or online as on this blog. Here is where you can hide behind the anonymous nature of the internet and spew your ignorance without any true retribution. However once you peel yourself away from the computer and are out and about in the real world, go ahead and refer to a Black person as Negro and then let’s hear about the response you get. I know what I would say if you called me Negro to my face, and it wouldn’t be pretty.

Traditional republicans are outnumbered by these neo-cons who think there is nothing wrong with their party- and are totally tone deaf and have no concept of what is happening. Anyone who thinks “obama the magic negro” is a parody and okay to do . These peoplen want to go back to a different place in time. ” Obama wishes he was a negro”. that is just plain stupid. The only black people who support and defends such are people like Alan Keyes, Blackwell and others who are mentally deranged.

It’s odd that people argue over who is a negro & who is black because black people in the US are actually a mixture of white, black & whatever, & many white people are also a mixture of white, black & whatever—whether they know it, or acknowledge it, or not. Look at Obama, for instance. I don’t believe this subject is upsetting to anyone because I have 2 black friends & they talk about it sometimes—along with a lot of other things! It’s funny. In the late 80s, I used to work where clients had to be asked what race they were & the clerks had to mark it down—some of our clerks were white & some were black. Some clients, who obviously looked “black”, said they were “white” & vice versa. The clerks didn’t know what to put. The clients did not appear to be messing with us—they would passionately explain just why it was that way. After some discussion, we decided to just mark down whatever the mother said she was, no matter what they looked like. Maybe this decision should have been obvious to us from the start—but it wasn’t back then. The point is—all this racial hatred some groups promote, like the Republicans do for instance, is even more ridiculous—& ridiculous in many more ways—than the obvious one.
