Nancy Reagan Health Update

By The Staff at wowOwow.com
Wikipedia.com

When wowOwow first reported that Nancy Reagan broke her pelvis and was hospitilized on October 14, readers’ comments poured in wishing the former First Lady a speed recovery.

The 87-year-old widow to Ronald Reagan reportedly tumbled and twisted her leg in her home in the middle of the night. Nancy Reagan’s spokesperson e-mailed wowOwow last night to share with us some good news regarding her recovery, and we wish to share the message with you. Joanne Drake, of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation writes:

"Mrs. Reagan was released from the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center last Friday and returned to her home in the Bel-Air neighborhood of Los Angeles. She has a regular routine of physical therapy and the doctors are very pleased with her progress so far. They have been very honest in telling her that her recovery could take six to eight weeks. She is in very good spirits and is working to lessen that recovery time."

Get well soon, Mrs. Reagan.

Nancy has always been a tough gal and quite the fighter. I expect her to rebound just beautifully.

Best wishes to Nancy Reagan. Good healthcare insurance really does provide for good medical care, so I am sure she is in good hands.

Burka: First you say best wished to Nancy and then the snide little remark about her good healthcare.

There is nothing snide about wanting all Americans to have the same healthcare that our elected officials and their families get. I wish her the best, and I hope she realizes how lucky she is to have the care she does, which is by the way, provided by the government. After her husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Nancy Reagan changed her opinion on Stem Cell Research against the Republican Party line, so who’s to say she won’t go against the Republican Party and speak out for Single Payer Healthcare? Stranger things have happened.

burka: Actually the republican party is not against stem cell research per say. Its stem cell research on aborted babies that they are against. Adult stem cells have also proved to be more successful than fetal stem cells as well.

Nancy Reagan went against the Republican Party in speaking out about her support of Embryonic Stem Cell Research.

DUH, I know you said that already. You’re beginning to sound redundant. Read my last response again, dear.

I repeated the meaning of my original post because THAT is what I meant to say… I wasn’t going to get into a discussion of adult stem cells vs. embryonic stem cells… my point wasn’t about that, it was about Mrs. Reagan’s support of Embryonic Stem Cell Research after her husband’s diagnosis and my hope that she would come out and support all Americans having access to the same level of healthcare that is available to our politicians and their families.

Our best wishes, Nancy. I understand what you are going through, as my mother is in need of massive hip surgery, far more than normal “hip-replacement”, and we live with the same risk of falling or fracture, everyday, as well as watch her live in monumental pain every moment. Sometimes opiates cannot even touch it. But, through all of this experience, we still understand that every moment of life is precious, and it is an opportunity to Love one another. So, we send you some of that Love today, and hope it will help you, too.
