New McCain Video Calls Out Media For Obama 'Love'

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

John McCain’s campaign wants people to know that the media is in love. Just not with him.

Yesterday, they released these videos on YouTube and sent out e-mails to supporters asking them to visit his site and vote on which song best articulates the press’s love for Barack Obama.

The campaign yesterday sent an e-mail out to supporters saying:

"It’s pretty obvious that the media has a bizarre fascination with Barack Obama. Some may even say it’s a love affair. We want you to be the judge. We’ve compiled two videos of the more outrageous moments of this not-so-secret love affair. Follow this link to watch the two videos and vote on which one you think is better. Your vote will determine which video we put on the air.

"The media is in love with Barack Obama. If it wasn’t so serious, it would be funny."

The first video is played to the tune of Frankie Valli’s "Can’t Take My Eyes Off You," the second to Vallie’s "My Eyes Adored You." Both montages include snippets of various newscasters and other media types just exuding praise for the Democratic presidential hopeful. One example is Chris Matthews saying Obama caused a "thrill" to go up his leg. As of 9:30 this morning, video and song #1 has the lead, 86 percent to 14 percent. There has been no official response from the Obama camp.

I’m wondering if this is wow’s attempt at making this site bi-partisan. I see a glowing article about Cindy McCain up right now. I see the New Yorker slam on the Obama’s still up. I see it brought to light again by the pitiful Vanity Fair cover. Now this….McCain’s back handed slam on Obama. I’m embarrassed for McCain that he took time and money to make a satire video when the country is in trouble. So, Joni…could we have some articles that don’t poke fun at Obama, that don’t poke fun at his wife, that don’t slam his interview with his children….surely you can find something positive to report on concerning the Obama’s. Others seem to have no problem doing this, but if you need help I’m sure there are plenty here who are willing to pitch in….you know, to make this really a bi-partisan site.

I think this site is already pretty pro-Obama. To anyone who watches a lot of cable “news,” this rang true. In fact, I am surprised the site is not chockful of Obama’s media tour—how he keeps saying, “As president, I must…,” then, insincerely, “You know, if i get elected…”

Uhhhhh Star- where do you see anything that is purely positive about the Obama’s here right now? Something that’s not a slam or a satirical slam. I’m missing the point on, “how he keeps saying, “As president, I must…,” then, insincerely, “You know, if i get elected…” …..that is how candidates talk.

And…”insincerely” is your judgement.

Yes—my judgment…it seems insincere when he adds it.

Now, Star, if Sen. McCain were “sincere” about things, why isn’t he speaking up on the POW camp at Guantanamo. He’ll always “hate gooks” because he was tortured, but it’s now okay to torture the people illegally incarcerated at Guantanamo? Did he speak out against what was going on at Al Grahib?

He has spoken against Guantanamo. I agree on that one “torture” vote—don’t know why he did it. Did I say McCain was sincere—I believe I said Obama sounds insincere when he remembers he is not yet president.i

His position on Guantanamo is bizarre. He wants a Guantanamo on U.S. soil. Sometimes I think his only problem with it is that it is in Cuba. See http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/06/14/mccain_blasts_ruli… Odd position for a former P.O.W. Very odd.

No, I have to say I don’t see anything positive—just more and more things that make me cringe.

Josie, The majority of the posters on the site are pro Obama. I didn’t like the New Yorker cover and stated such, but it is news and I believe part of the function of this site is new, not just opinion and perspective. Hey, Obama is hanging in there great. He might be the next President of the US. We respect your choice and your defense of him. I like him. But if a person on the sight is not a liberal, then you wouldn’t understand what we are talking about. If you went on a totally conservative site, you would probably remark as the republicans and independents are, and rightly so. It goes back and forth which side has the lead topic. If they put up an article about the prospective first ladies, Michelle Obama receives more favorable posts than C McCain, she gets torn apart. At first it starts kindly, and then the put down comments like ‘mannequin’ are dropped in. Then there is a big LOL or something. That is what people are trying to say. Personally, I don’t believe it is necessary to stereotype anyone or put them down. What is the point? Celebrate women or all walks of life. They all bring a new experience and we don’t know them personally, so how can we say how they really are?

Star….Yep, I agree, I think this site is pretty pro-Obama also. By the way — I voted for the first Video. LOL Someone mentioned “I think, I hope anyway, Americans have gone beyond voting for someone as to whether or not they’d like to go out for a beer with him”. Well, I hope that Americans have gone beyond voting for someone who appears to have a “cult” following — bordering on adulation or the belief that he is the “second coming”. One day this week — while Obama is on his Media Tour (by the way, who is paying for this trip - especially since there were other Senators on the trip — does this mean the tax payers are helping to foot the bill?). Just wondering. Also, one day this week — NBC Morning Program (can’t remember the guy’s name) — called his tour — “Obama’s Tour of Duty”. Sorry, Tour Of Duty means your military station such as Afghanastan, Iraq (or anywhere in the country our servicemen and women are stationed. And, believe me, these guys and gals aren’t running for election — just defending our country so that he has the “freedom” for his “media tour”. Peace

Lady Gator. “Who’s paying for this trip” ??????????? I’m sure it’s his campaign finances. Question? Who pays the bill when Bush (or any president) flies Airforce One around the Country raising funds for the Republican party. I know the answer to that question……..it’s us the American tax payers. He was just here in Northern California this past week. I think he raised about 1.5 million………..I’ll bet it cost more than that to cover all the cost of his trips. I’ve always thought this is a bad policy that should be changed………….Once a person becomes President he is the President of all the people………..not just their own party. It seems, when a person gets into office……the first two years are spent playing catch up….the next 6 months are spent being president…….the next 18 months are spent trying to get re-elected. Our system is out of touch with reality………….Congress needs to write some new laws.
