New McCain Video Calls Out Media For Obama 'Love'

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

John McCain’s campaign wants people to know that the media is in love. Just not with him.

Yesterday, they released these videos on YouTube and sent out e-mails to supporters asking them to visit his site and vote on which song best articulates the press’s love for Barack Obama.

The campaign yesterday sent an e-mail out to supporters saying:

"It’s pretty obvious that the media has a bizarre fascination with Barack Obama. Some may even say it’s a love affair. We want you to be the judge. We’ve compiled two videos of the more outrageous moments of this not-so-secret love affair. Follow this link to watch the two videos and vote on which one you think is better. Your vote will determine which video we put on the air.

"The media is in love with Barack Obama. If it wasn’t so serious, it would be funny."

The first video is played to the tune of Frankie Valli’s "Can’t Take My Eyes Off You," the second to Vallie’s "My Eyes Adored You." Both montages include snippets of various newscasters and other media types just exuding praise for the Democratic presidential hopeful. One example is Chris Matthews saying Obama caused a "thrill" to go up his leg. As of 9:30 this morning, video and song #1 has the lead, 86 percent to 14 percent. There has been no official response from the Obama camp.

It wasn’t so much of a back-handed swing at Obama, Josie, as a hard right to the chops. What a bunch of whining baloney by McCain. The media doesn’t like him because he’s the worst public speaker anyone has ever heard. Even top GOP people are bemoaning the incredibly poor quality of McCain’s speeches. He does fine answering the media one-on-one, or in the 10-second soundbites, but they should never allow that man onto a podium again, if they want McCain to win the election.

I don’t get it. Why would the McCain campaign––rhymes nicely––send these out to their supporters? Am I missing something deeply significant here? If it’s to mock, then this is strange mocking. It just might come back to hit them right between those eyes.

I agree with you, Phyllis. Seems the McCain refrain is lost with the repetition of the Obamas in every media oulet. If anything, McCain has created a subliminal enticement for their troops to vote for Obama. If the the campaigns were carefully studied, I think the media have been equally distributed. McCain was just labeled the ‘presumptive’ candidate of his party several months prior to Obama. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. Peace and grace

Phyllis: he’s running behind Obama a bit and money (follow the money) he’s not on a par with Obama’s campaign—It’s all about the bucks—it always is with politicians. Oh yes it’s a feeble attempt at humour too,

McCain once said that he couldn’t say that “the buck stops here” because he wasn’t president. I know that he was alluding to Truman, but I have to wonder if he understood that he was effectively saying that he would not take any responsibility unless he was president? As the party candidate, the GOP buck should stop with him. imho.

Phyllis- I hope so because if Obama had done that to him….he would have been put on a screwer and roasted for dinner. I guess the Obama folks don’t have time to make silly videos because they are running a serious campaign to help the country. Don’t do it Obama…don’t sink to McCain’s level. No videos making fun of anyone.

He won’t Josie. He hasn’t yet, it’s not his style and his style is working very well for him.

No Josie I don’t see him sinking that low—De B you’re right it’s not his style.

I agree. Seems like someone’s jealous. I could pick up on the 9th grade boy comment one of the reporters (Scarborough? Can’t remember) said in one of the clips and turn it back - if some other 9th grade boy is getting attention from the girl you love, you beat him up in the schoolyard. Doesn’t make the girl love you instead of him, in fact, more likely than not, drives the girl closer to him.

Guys—I’ll put this in perspective for you although I am shaking and can barely type or think. My Brother Mark This morning at 7:30 AM I opened my emails. The top two were from George Ball, the former CEO of EF Hutton, and my brother Mark. Mr. Ball was responding very nice to my email and said in part that the best thing about EF Hutton were the people who worked there like me, he signed it all best. My brother’s group email to everyone in our family except my mother was entitled, I’m Sorry. He’d sent it at 3:33AM. He had a beautiful lakefront home on Lake Oswego…he’d take his two boys out on the lake in the sailboat every sunset. He had a catalogue company called Lakefront Living that he’d sold. One of his sons is an exceptional pianist and completed with college, the other son is in college. His wife never worked and was very demanding….more…more …more. My brother was a very good guy. Tall, handsome, funny, very sweet, ultra responsible and just good. He did everything right. Very hard worker. Everything for his sons. He’d just been up to visit my mother and father. My mother sounded like a sixteen year old on the phone to me because Mark was there. So witty, so handsome….she was like a girl having her prince there. Mark and I used to own property together, also on a lake. We were very close as kids…all of us. He was divorced and instead of getting an attorney gave everything to his wife. He was very depressed. With his family and his house gone, and about the economy. My mother said she was concerned about him but she’d spoken to the kids who all said, Mark is Mr. Responsible he always makes money it’ll be alright. My sister’s are both psychologists and spoke to him often, he had women friends at work (since seliing his company he went to work while trying to decide what to do). The email went on about how sorry he was, he felt like a failure that he let everyone down. When since a child he was the one who always didd the right thing. My sister, her husband, my other brother and sister-in-law are on the way to my mother’s house right now to tell her, Mark killed himself this morning. I am in a state of shock. My other sister was crying hysterically for an hour. We all are extremely upset about what this will do to our mother. I want to call her now, we spoke, laughing last night. But I can’t until after the others get there and speak to her first. Now this will be his legacy. I’m so sorry to know he was in this much pain. True to how he is he packed everything up and put it in the garage. A permanent solution to a temporary problem and we cannot turn the clock back a few hours and say, Wait! We will all live with this the rest of our lives. It will beyond devastate my mother Mark said he was sorry to embarrass us with this. I can’t believe he did this. He was a really good guy.

Suznnne - I am so very sorry. I hope you will soon be able to talk with your mother; she will need to talk with you just as much as you need to hear from her. I also hope that your brother left a message for your Mom which might help her get through the next few days. There will be so much pain; I just wish there was some way in which I could help you. Again, I am devastated for your loss. You must be strong for your parents and your nephews, Suzanne. God bless you.

OMG, I am so sorry. Saying “sorry” doesn’t even come close to how I feel. I wish I could come to you and put my arms around you. I just don’t know what to say here. Please, please stay with us and know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I have so much I want to say to you. You inspire me. Frank, say something please!

Frank, sorry, I didn’t mean to put you on the spot. You just seem to have relationship here with these inspiring ladies and you are well liked. I was just thinking that you would know what to say. I just can’t seem to find the words.
