New McCain Video Calls Out Media For Obama 'Love'

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

John McCain’s campaign wants people to know that the media is in love. Just not with him.

Yesterday, they released these videos on YouTube and sent out e-mails to supporters asking them to visit his site and vote on which song best articulates the press’s love for Barack Obama.

The campaign yesterday sent an e-mail out to supporters saying:

"It’s pretty obvious that the media has a bizarre fascination with Barack Obama. Some may even say it’s a love affair. We want you to be the judge. We’ve compiled two videos of the more outrageous moments of this not-so-secret love affair. Follow this link to watch the two videos and vote on which one you think is better. Your vote will determine which video we put on the air.

"The media is in love with Barack Obama. If it wasn’t so serious, it would be funny."

The first video is played to the tune of Frankie Valli’s "Can’t Take My Eyes Off You," the second to Vallie’s "My Eyes Adored You." Both montages include snippets of various newscasters and other media types just exuding praise for the Democratic presidential hopeful. One example is Chris Matthews saying Obama caused a "thrill" to go up his leg. As of 9:30 this morning, video and song #1 has the lead, 86 percent to 14 percent. There has been no official response from the Obama camp.

Dear everyone and Frannie Em, Agyness, Pat, CA Rose, Elizabeth B- Even his best friend of 30 years that Mark had a regular weekly lunch date with did not have a clue. My sister who is an ordained minister has been taking all the calls from his company and friends in Lake Oswego. Over 200. She said she’s exhausted but the outpouring of love and respect is amazing. Mark and I both love water. As he requested he was cremated yesterday and his ashes are in the sea-that gives me such a feeling of peace—that’s what I’ve always wanted too. Ironically, last night I was out in a nice stationary store looking for note cards that look like what my brother would love, and found wonderful ones of sailboats on the sea, and by total coincidence met a hospital chaplain who gave me great advice. My mother can’t go to the services on June 30, I can’t either. The chaplain said it is perfectly fine to make your own service, and they are making a tape of the services for Mom and me. To us Mark was a person with a lot of magic and it is very nice to know so many in Lake Oswego thought so too. Magic and good things last. Love to you all and thank you again so much.

Suzanne, I’m a few days late but I just now saw your post………….. Saying I’m sorry doesn’t even begin to say what I feel for you. The loss of one so dear is like having someone rip your heart right out of you. I know all your family is in shock and in such a deep place of pain. Thank God he allows us to stay in this numb place for a while, other wise we couldn’t funtion. Often times people say they “know how you feel” and most of the time they don’t have any idea. In a three year period I lost 15 members of my family……… Within three months of my husbands death I also lost my sister..My Mother a cousin and a dear friend. So I do know what this kind of pain and suffering is. I send you my love……enegy and good thoughts always for you and all your family…..I know that Mark is in Heaven. He will rest and be renewed with a life with no pain or sorrow. He can be your Angel for the rest of your life. Please be kind to yourself………try to get as much rest as possible. Your new friend Dona Howlett

You mean they got nothing else to talk about? We used to have a very colorful governor here in Ky. His name was “Happy” Chandler. He used to have a saying: “It all depends whose ox is gettin’ gored.”

Pathetic. A whiner never wins. How embarrassing for McCain, talk about “9th grade boy(s)” ha! I mean, they’re not only whining about McCains opponent they’re even making fun of Obama’s supporters as well! This really is beneath a Presidential campaign and reeks of desperation.

Desperation? not quite yet but close—I worry about another “swift-boatin’” going on and a whole lot of dirty tricks. And it will start it it already hasn’t/

I guess it’s the only way the Republicans think they can win.

Frank, sweetie, it’s already started around here. A long time ago. Remember the blog that was saying he’s muslim? The “knuckle punch” rumor? Also, they are waiting to see who he will choose as VP. That is why I think it would make a VERY interesting campaign if he chooses Chuck Hagel. Personally, I think our issues are so major with this go-around, that very many attempts to de-fame with silly films such as this will backfire. The media doesn’t help; the major anchors are traveling with Obama waiting for a gaffe, and seem surprised and disappointed that he is doing so well and seems knowledgeable. All candidates, as all of us are not without flaws; can you imagine how it must be for these guys(of any party) to walk on eggs 24/7, and watch their every move, gesture, word, step, etc.?

Oh yes, Diana, the muslim slam—it”s still out there with a life of hit’s own now and it’s not going to stop—Chuck Hagel would be ideal—only Republican I’ve respected in 40 years—excellent choice and I hope it’s either him or John Edwards—I can’t imagine wanting that job, walking on eggs at the beginning as you say, watching every word one says—trying not to flip-flop too much as one learns more and more. It’s a damned thankless task IMO and no thank you I’d never wasn’t something like that in my life. No way. I hope Diana you’re correct on the defaming but frankly I don’t see it not happening—dirty tricks are de rigueur in politics these days—look at the Bushies—that’s it’s become endemic. There are times when I want to grab some people and slap them upside the head and get them to straighten out. Ah me. Wouldn’t that be metaphorically lovely :-)

Diane I agree, so far their attempts to pull him into the mud with them have failed. I don’t think Rove politics will work this time, I am hopeful anyway. But then again in the words of Elbert Hubbard, “Genius may have its limitations, but stupidity is not thus handicapped.”

Frank, Do you remember your Swift-boatin’ comment here? Well, here goes. Below the belt attempt. Hope it gets some backlash. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/23/mccain-camp-attacks-obama_n_114…

Diana—thanks so much—yup it’s started—it should get backlashed out of existence—that was competely uncalled for but dirty crap is dirty crap and we can expect to see much more of that from the McCain camp in the days and weeks to come. Dirty tricks and outright lies are part of politics since the beginning of the political process in human history —why should we think it’s going to be any different in this campaign—Obama’s advisors and he should treat this with the utter contempt it deserves.

I remember a couple of elections ago, someone did a call in to Larry King, his guests were Carville and Matalan, I think, and the question was, why is there so much negative campaigning? And, they both said, and I’ve heard it since then, that negative campaigning keeps people away from the polls, and when that happens, the Republicans usually win. This was back when the Religious Right was hitting its zenith. The person who made negative campaigning was Lee Atwater. Remember him, Frank?

Lee Atwater? how can one forget that SOB—what a creepoid. Re dirty I go back to Nixon’s campaign and the lawyers then that engaged in dirty tricks for his campaign and I don’t mean just Aatergate. Remember Donald Segretti and his crew of tricksters? It has changed one iota since then. It’s only gotten more refined in its insidiousness.
