North Carolina Woman, Rebecca Willis, Paid Off After 'Dirty Dancing'

A community center in Marshall, NC, has paid a woman $275,000 to never return. Sixty-four-year-old Rebecca Willis rocked the town’s world eight years ago, when she showed up at the community center wearing a short, underwear-revealing skirt and proceeded to "gyrate," "simulate sex" and generally "dirty dance," a sight that absolutely shocked the center’s other patrons.

Officials first tried to ban her, and were so incensed that they reportedly threatened to burn down the center rather than let Willis return. Outraged by her ostracism, Willis hired a lawyer and fought an eight-year battle for the payoff. One has to wonder how the town would have handled the matter had Willis, who was 56 at the time, had been about 30 years younger.

We hope they would have been just as angry, but something tells us we’re wrong.
