Obama Camp Shoots Down Rumors of Biden Dropout

While some Internet sites are speculating that Sen. Joe Biden could drop out of the presidential race and be replaced by Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama’s campaign told wowOwow.com that the rumors aren’t true.
"There are a lot of ridiculous, unfounded rumors out there, but this one takes the cake," campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor told wowOwow.
The same story seems to be circulating on some U.S. sites, which are, in turn, being picked up by sites such as The U.K. Daily Mail.
FOXNews.com also reported on the rumors this week.
"It’s crazy … It’s just not gonna happen," Democratic strategist Bob Beckel told FOX News.
"I doubt it," added Christopher Hull, presidential scholar and adjunct government professor at Georgetown University. "Joe Biden is not that big a liability. Joe Biden was arguably the most experienced candidate in the [Democratic primary] race."
The rumor is that Biden, D-DE, will drop out after his October 2 debate with Sarah Palin, John McCain’s vice-presidential running mate, due to health problems. Then, the whispers say, he will be replaced by Clinton – who doesn’t even want the job as No. 2 in the White House.
But Obama’s campaign and his surrogates are strongly disputing such talk.
