Obama Shows Ellen DeGeneres His Dance Moves (Video)

Barack Obama shook his moneymaker on "Ellen" today.

The Democratic presidential hopeful – who now has a ten-point lead among registered voters over his rival, Republican candidate John McCain – visited with Ellen DeGeneres via satellite after campaigning in Florida.

"Let’s talk about dancing," DeGeneres says. "Your wife, Michelle, was on the show and she was talking some smack about your moves."

DeGeneres played music and gave Obama 20 seconds to prove his dancing skills.

"Michelle may be a better dancer, but I am convinced I am a better dancer than John McCain," Obama says.

Obama also tells Ellen the Halloween costumes his two daughters — ten-year-old Malia and seven-year-old Sasha — have planned. Malia will be a fairy and Sasha will be a "corpse bride."

Obama also offered to help DeGeneres with her campaign to lure George Clooney onto her show.

Obama’s running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, D-DE, appeared on "Ellen" earlier this week.

Obama also appeared on "Ellen" last October, when he made his entrance to Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love.”

"You’re the best dancer so far on the presidential” campaign, DeGeneres said then.

"It’s a low bar,” Obama responded. “I’m pretty sure I’ve got better moves than [Rudy] Giuliani.”

Here’s video of Obama’s dancing moves today.

At least he’ll be interacting, adlibing and real rather than scripted and muzzled.

I’ve gone to the Ellen Degeneres website, and seen the Video of the Day - her interview with Barack Obama. It’s just great, and he is wonderful. I can’t wait to have him as our next President. In addition to his intelligence, wisdom, judgment, etc. I love how he is not afraid to speak to the people. He’s not afraid to interact and show humor. He is so real. I want to see him dance for the next eight years. I have a bottle of good champagne chilling in my fridge, waiting on Nov. 4th!

Hi Josie, Yes, only 13 days to go! I hope he makes it. It sure looks like he will. Will you be celebrating at home with friends? I might stay home. It depends on what hotel, etc. the local Dem. office books for a party. I may go there for a while. I think it will be a late night. Too bad the day after is a work day. I’ll make a toast on the 4th, for a better world, a world of compassion. I’ll toast to you and your friends too. Hope all is well.

N P- I told my friend Rena about your plan today. We made plans with her fiance to also open a fine bottle of champagne on Nov. 4th….he was tying to figure out what time we, in the central time zone, could actually pop the cork. We all agreed on 8pm CT. of course, it could be weeks until they find all of the hidden ballots.

N P, My sentiments exactly! I don’t ever recall being so excited about placing my vote for our next President, or about a candidate so worth being excited about. I do remember, many times in the past, voting for a President based on who was “somewhat” better than the other. This vote will be based on the excitement of choosing the right man (Obama of course), I’m crazy about him and his wife/family. I think you hit the nail on the head “He is so real.” We are at a point in time where we need REAL. I’ll think of you on Nov. 4th!

Sheryl, Yes, excited is the word. Only 11 more days. I can hardly breathe. Cheers on the 4th!

Hi Sheryl, What a nice surprise to hear from you, and so early - my first Wow contact today. It must have felt great, being the first at your polling place to vote for Obama. Good for you, and good for our country, and for the world. As you say, the day is finally here, and it is our day! I know it. Champagne all around tonight, and dancing in the streets. Cheers back, Sheryl!

N P! Have you gotten your breath back yet? “We” won, and “we” won BIG! I am proud to be an American today, I am proud to be a human being today, finally, finally, validation for all! Martin Luther King has not died in vain. There are so many wonderful, historical things that took place, I was so blown away to see so, so many people last night with tears streaming down their faces, me right with them, It did feel great to be the first at my polling place, it felt good to make a difference, to believe with so much passion that this would take place. My biggest prayer now is that all every where will continue to rally together and make the world a much better place, and I’m believing we will because we are off to the best start possible. Have a great day!

Hi Sheryl, I woke up this morning, and asked myself if this really happened. If what I saw and heard last night was real. So on went the TV again, in search of confirmation. Today is a great day for Americans and the world. Obama’s speech last night was amazing. The part where he said something like: For those of you whose vote I haven’t earned … I will be your President, too … I thought that was so smart, and amazing. I will have to print it out and read it again. I have every faith that Obama will put together the best cabinet, and do all the right things to make this country much better. I feel relieved and thrilled and exhausted all at once. And I can finally exhale and stop sleeping with one eye open. I am very proud to be an American today, and I look forward to spending the rest of the week reading all the papers, and getting the perspective from the rest of the world. Good to hear from you. And yes, let’s have a great day!

N P, Good to hear from you also, everything you said are my sentiments exactly. Yes, I too loved his speech, he’s so concise, so deep. And what I hope we will all take from this, is that when other elections take place in the future it will not enter anyone’s mind the race, religion, or gender because WE ARE ALL EQUAL! I already have a feeling of tranquility and trust knowing he will be President, I truly believe in this man and what he represents. enjoy!
