The Obama, McCain Housing Crisis: It's Not the One You Think (Videos)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

For the past week, a viral battle has been brewing between Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and his Republican rival John McCain over housing. No, not the housing crisis that you think — not the one we hear about every night, the one that has caused the greatest home price decline since the Great Depression. Not that one that might cause Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to collapse as early as this afternoon, according to CNBC’s Jim Cramer. No, what ignited this back-and-forth campaign has to do with the houses owned by the two candidates, as in how many they have and how they got them. This particularly silly series of video attacks began after John McCain admitted to Politico.com that he has no clue how many homes he owns — and Barack Obama immediately bounced on the blunder as proof that McCain is too out of touch with American voters.

Whether Obama owns one home and McCain owns seven or eight, both of them are worth a hefty fortune, according to CBS News and the New York Post. Watch these two YouTube videos below to witness some of the "housing war" campaign attacks.

You may like to tell yourself that it’s half the party, but it’s closer to 18%. And I wouldn’t call it snubbing, unless you’re taking it personally, which would be a ridiculous thing to do considering Obama doesn’t know you personally and can’t possibly please every individual in the party. He simply disagrees with your idea of who should be his vp. Instead of wanting to bring down Obama for spite, why aren’t you moving on and looking at both presidential candidates with an eye towards policy? There’s a world of difference between the two platforms — not only Obama’s and McCain’s, but also Clinton’s and McCain’s. What was Hillary’s vision? Who comes closest to sharing it, McCain? Not even close.

DeBúrca: “There is nothing wrong with that.” Oh ?? You just said, “Saying Obama wrote two books about himself is petty and very misleading.” Anyone who has been following Obama knows he tends to be narcisssistic. That’s okay, we all have our personality disorders.

Biden knows a thing or two about having a budget and getting kids through college. He is at the bottom of the pecking order when it comes to personal net assets in the senate. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5ivD75Of6JQzDRixNbfD-4VP9CCzQD92OEDL80 There’s a lot of other professions he could have gotten into if money was his primary goal.

The cognitive abilities of both candidates will be front and center come the head-to-head TV debates. If McCain has problems, they should manifest themselves.

McCain did quite well at that Saddleback thing — better than Obama. Maybe it was an anomaly — we’ll see.

Marjorie, as always, with the understated subtleties. I salute you.

My Alias: “… with the understated subtleties.” LOL. Thanks. The realities are so obvious, it’s hard to let them slip by.

No Way-No How -No McCain
James I look forward to that. Time Mag says Mitt is it. Also am interested to see how much more of ‘tied his dog to the car roof for cross-country trip” stories we’ll see. Where are these people’s brains? I mean we know where John Edwards was. But how does someone do that to their dog??

No ability to put oneself in the place of another being. Terrifying characteristic for a VP if you ask me.

When I looked at Biden bound upon that platform looking so vigourous and full of life, I thought of the contrast between him and McCain, both physically and mentally.

They both need to work out, though.

Biden plays a mean game of tennis. That’s a lot of workout right there.

I doubt he’s very good. I’ve been playing a lot of tennis this summer
