Oops! Newspaper Uses Image of Tina Fey on 'SNL' as Official Sarah Palin Photograph (Video)

A French-language daily newspaper in Quebec mistook a photo of Tina Fey acting as Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live" as authentic — and published it on its front page.
However, the photograph is really Tina Fey playing Sarah Palin and Amy Poehler as Katie Couric from a Fey-Couric mock interview that aired on "SNL" September 27.
Although the story’s byline reads Agence France-Presse, a company similar to the Associated Press, which means the story could have potentially been circulated around the world, the image and the ‘SNL’ snafu might have just been published in the Le Soleil, Quebec’s French newspaper.
According to Christopher Vogt, the deputy editor for North American’s AFP, the AFP does not send out stories with photographs.
"The mistake was made by Le Soleil and they also changed the caption on the picture," Vogt wrote at tvsquad.com in response to a blogger’s accusations. "I also doubt that this went all over the world. I have now gotten a few phone calls from colleagues who tease me about this. I readily admit our mistakes but I’d love to get the record straightened on this one."
Below is the "SNL" skit the photograph was taken from:
