Oops! Newspaper Uses Image of Tina Fey on 'SNL' as Official Sarah Palin Photograph (Video)

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

A French-language daily newspaper in Quebec mistook a photo of Tina Fey acting as Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live" as authentic — and published it on its front page.

However, the photograph is really Tina Fey playing Sarah Palin and Amy Poehler as Katie Couric from a Fey-Couric mock interview that aired on "SNL" September 27.

Although the story’s byline reads Agence France-Presse, a company similar to the Associated Press, which means the story could have potentially been circulated around the world, the image and the ‘SNL’ snafu might have just been published in the Le Soleil, Quebec’s French newspaper.

According to Christopher Vogt, the deputy editor for North American’s AFP, the AFP does not send out stories with photographs.

"The mistake was made by Le Soleil and they also changed the caption on the picture," Vogt wrote at tvsquad.com in response to a blogger’s accusations. "I also doubt that this went all over the world. I have now gotten a few phone calls from colleagues who tease me about this. I readily admit our mistakes but I’d love to get the record straightened on this one."

Below is the "SNL" skit the photograph was taken from:

this has nothig to do with this tina artical however i do think that is funny my complaint of today is this……………… This is what I say to Sarah about this BS she constantly dishes up about the Pro_life Pro_choice issue Obama is NOT saying abort abort abort !! He Understands that things happen to Women that WE as Woman do not ask for or did not ask for! I am speaking of Rape and Molestation!!!! If I as a Woman or a Teenager or at anytime when I can become impregnated were RAPED or MOLESTED and I became pregnant with this horrible persons fetus I should have the RIGHT to ABORT!! WE as Women suffer on a Daily Basis after this Horrible violation as been committed against us. I do not need another issue on top of that to cause me more emotional distress!! I have to take care of Myself First so that I can be a Functioning Person in Society,!! I do not need a Constant reminder of what happened to me Without my Permission! It takes a Mentally disturbing tole on most! Some have killed them selves because of these horrific Acts or have Tried ! Obama is NOT SAYING use Abortion as a means of Birth Control he absolutely is not! He is saying use that right carefully do not abuse it! Obama Understands & does Respect us as Women he knows what reality is! No one is going to tell Me to carry a Fetus of a child Molester or Rapist !!! .

Now It’s Obama Wants to Kill Babies in Utero, and Teach 5 Year-Olds Sex Education This duos’ so out of control merely grasping at straws they can’t stand up! Enough of Palin’s serious slips into another dimension; not a realistic utterance in the past 72-hours—she is not well. No one could verbalize such far-fetched nonsense even if told to do so-an executive woman would refuse! This isn’t “just politics” its insanity, exciting to riot, and inexcusable behaviour. It’s time we all agreed that psychotherapy, with a board-certified psycho-analyst is de rigueur for anyone in office, with weekly sessions to ‘stay in touch’ for the president and VP, and all cabinet members, minimally. We must expect the highest standards, mental and physical for all in office in the U.S.; there’s nothing wrong with protecting one’s mental health, and we have a right to be assured that everything is being done to help those in leadership, and they are healthy in all ways in order to protect our country, and the earth’s peoples. We are Americans, not Chinese, not barbarians—or we didn’t use to be before this Administration. There is something very wrong with a nation that permits obviously disturbed individuals from running for office, and the House and Senate swearing them in. This has to stop now or our nation will end very soon. Between these two, and what the Administration and Treasury are doing (far too late), we cannot accept anything that even so much as hints at mental illness, at any level. Both McCain and Palin are functioning on half-a-loaf, if that. There’s no excuse for McCain’s team to have gotten away with their rhetoric, lies, scare-tactics, and irresponsible actions (like bringing in Palin). They’ve obviously forgotten that many of us were alive and well in the 60s, and remember Viet Nam, and the protestors—who they were, what they really did, and did not do and … KENT STATE. McCain’s not thinking a whit either. In the debate he proclaimed his bail-out for those being foreclosed on; yet, in the bill he signed a few days prior it was included—did he know what he signed? If so, his proclamation was counter an emergency act of congress! McCain a hero for protecting his own life? Heroes are people who think, and then deliberately risk their lives, fortunes, and fame for others—not themselves. How much more of this are we going to take? Are you? If not, write or email the editors of your newspapers, and say so, now. Right now! There may not be a “later on”. http://www.congress.org/congressorg/dbq/media/
