Palin and Obama to Speak at DC Dinner

Sarah Palin has a date with the president Saturday night.

Well, not really, but the politicians will both be attending dinner at DC’s Alfalfa Club. And, as a treat for other guests, Palin and Obama will both offer some wise words. Hopefully those words will be witty, too, for the dinner’s less concerned with policy than roasting other attendees.

Founded in 1913, the club is one of the nation’s most exclusive, and it wasn’t until the 1970s that they allowed black people to attend the annual dinner, the club’s only event. Women weren’t included until 1993.

In addition to regular speeches, the attendees also pick a "mock candidate" for the presidency. That person’s then meant to give an acceptance speech. Perhaps Palin will get the chance to practice for 2012, when some think she’ll try to win the White House.

No doubt Palin’s looking forward to tomorrow. She said this week that she’s looking forward to dining with Obama: "How often will I get an opportunity to have dinner with the president? I will take up that offer to do so." Wise woman!

This should be rich. Obama will be his normal, unruffled, gracious self. And she will be herself, too. Grasping, overblown, and rough around the edges. Anyone shooting video?

He will be respectful and his usual gracious self. However, I would LOVE to see a photo of Michelle’s face during the dinner and speeches.

I would love to see a photo of Michelles face while Obambi is checking Palin out. Obambi will be respectful all the way to the bank with your money.

Oh God, hope she’s not going to use her usual language!!!! Sarah will have to learn that she is more intelligent company now and should behave accordingly….she may start off on the right foot but unfortunately her mouth run will away with her.

Charming and cool. He never seems to be out of his element. He has what my mom use to call “the common touch”. He is so comfortable in his own skin that he makes everyone around him feel comfortable too. Just my observations from TV and interviews.

I’m looking for someone to get tough, not charming and cool. He wants to sit down with Iran and have a chat with them. I wonder if they’ll be hanging another gay person while he’d there? Such a wonderful country that Iran is.

Get tough at the Alfalfa Club dinner? You must be a hoot at Superbowl parties.

Now your silly side is showing through….but you are right in the sense of being more experienced than Obama as regards to talking nonsense, riddles and pure country gal language….in that regard she is number one no doubt about it.

Caj P, Enough with the bashing. Get some class or go to class. One or the other. If you don’t agree with my post then you don’t agree. Some really admire Gov. Palin and others don’t. Put your energy somewhere else. You don’t have to reply to my posts or read my posts. Adios amigo.

Telling it like it is isn’t “bashing”, and his comment was hardly what anyone would consider nasty or “classless” as you imply. People are allowed to disagree with your posts, as you are allowed to disagree with theirs. Perhaps you should be putting YOUR energy elsewhere?

Look Pamela- Maybe I am telling it how it is and perhaps I am not bashing Obama. And maybe you need to re-read my post above because obviously you really didn’t the first time. I wouldn’t want YOU to waste your energy. If you can’t deal with that then that is your problem not mine. You don’t have to read my posts or reply to my posts. Are we clear on this? I don’t anticipate anymore of the passive-aggressiveness from some of the WOW posters because it’s very counterproductive. Thanks for reading if indeed you took the time to READ.

Pamela: Telling it like it is isn’t “bashing”,… This is not telling it like it is: caj p: …talking nonsense, riddles and pure country gal language….. Governor Palin does not talk nonsense, never heard a riddle from her, and what is ‘pure country gal language’ other than perhaps a snide remark against rural people. The remark was nasty and classless on all fronts.
