Palin and Obama to Speak at DC Dinner

Sarah Palin has a date with the president Saturday night.

Well, not really, but the politicians will both be attending dinner at DC’s Alfalfa Club. And, as a treat for other guests, Palin and Obama will both offer some wise words. Hopefully those words will be witty, too, for the dinner’s less concerned with policy than roasting other attendees.

Founded in 1913, the club is one of the nation’s most exclusive, and it wasn’t until the 1970s that they allowed black people to attend the annual dinner, the club’s only event. Women weren’t included until 1993.

In addition to regular speeches, the attendees also pick a "mock candidate" for the presidency. That person’s then meant to give an acceptance speech. Perhaps Palin will get the chance to practice for 2012, when some think she’ll try to win the White House.

No doubt Palin’s looking forward to tomorrow. She said this week that she’s looking forward to dining with Obama: "How often will I get an opportunity to have dinner with the president? I will take up that offer to do so." Wise woman!

If you don’t think Sarah Palin talks nonsense do you not listen to her when she is interviewed…she can’t answer a simple question coherently!! Also she is real country nothing snide about that it’s just the truth! Nothing to do with rural people as you put it just a plain fact, now if you don’t like it then that is too bad and nothing to do with classless or nasty just the plain truth. The remark is only nasty to you because you are a Palin fan pure and simple.

Tanja Pineda I always thought that these posts on Wow allow for reaction, etc. to postings. How dull this site would be if this were not the case. I suggest you do not post if you do not expect responses to your posts. Note the reply link to the right of your post. That’s what it is for-feedback ,if anyone cares to. Many do. Like me today.

Anyway one slices it, the truth is that Sarah Palin was a mayor and is a governor….which equals: An accomplished woman. No woman (or man) on this site is more accomplished than Sarah Palin. You can’t take it away from her. I expect both will behave appropriately….. why wouldn’t they?

You betcha, Tanja! I said it because it is the truth. She absolutely has more experience than Obama. Of course, lately he is gaining experience in a hurry!

This post is so abosolutely dumb re the CURRENT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. I am so sorry you must now live in a country with an inexperienced President. What in the world will become of you. Perhaps you should leave the country so you can have some peace and not live in fear that the current President is so inexperienced that your lives are well what?

Andromeda Jakes, Perhaps the Sarah Lover’s should move up to Alaska to live with their beloved Sarah. She and her husband belonged/ or approved to a group that wanted to seced from the United States in the past. Maybe that’s what they would all like to do together…..LOL I find it difficult to believe some people even when proven wrong continue to believe the same old garbage they’ve had shoveled at them by the Republican Party for the past 8 years..

When you say that Obama isnt experienced that isnt bashing him? Not many “inexperienced” people become President……. even thought Sarah Palin gave it a shot. I dont expect you to agree with my post…… if you dont, there is no need to reply to it…… why bother with bashing since you claim that you dont….. I believe the quote from you is Put your energy somewhere else. You don’t have to reply to my posts or read my posts. learn it… live it….. Ill be surprised if you can restrain yourself….. surprise me

Roger, I think some people are confused as to what the word “bashing” means. Facts and opinions they disagree with they will call “bashing” but it is ok for them to criticize anybody… because it’s THEIR opinion, which to them is not bashing. It’s frustrating to say the least.

Roger ——Why do you find so many things so upsetting to you? You don’t need to reply if it’s so upsetting to you. You can just scroll too! There are other male posters on this site who can express themselves without trying to demean and “get even” when they post. There are times, Roger, when you have the expressive power of a fencepost and other times when you have the charisma of a week-old head of lettuce. Learn it…live it…I’ll be surprised if you can restrain yourself…surprise me.

Lady Gator….TERRIFFIC…..You told it like it is…. he has to demean women to prove something to himself!! The only thing he proves his how pathetic he really is….we are not impressed….wish he’d get the hint……where’s Robert when we need a man to set him straight, since women have no voice in his pittiful mind….I’m just sayin’!

disagreeing with a woman is demeaning them? Why do you demean our President? Would you prefer a man that smiles, pats you on the head when you say something? where’s Robert when we need a man to set him straight, Why do you want a man to come to your rescue?

Roger — Disagreeing with women is demeaning them? Sometimes you have the attention of a lightening bolt! I don’t mind the disagreeing — I mind it when you call women names as you have in the past. Now, you know you have so admit it! There is also this attitude that boo hoo someone is picking on you. Yeah, I would like a man that smiles, a man with a sense of humor. FP gets some good ones off once in a while. However, fp is always pretty nice to all the ladies on here, even if he disagrees. Pat me on the head — no, I’m not your little doggie. I, and all women on this site want to be respected for whatever we say. With you, it’s always you’re wrong, I’m right. Women don’t generally like that attitude. I do not, nor have I ever, demeaned our President. No, I didn’t vote for him. Yes, I happen to disagree with some of his issues. That is no secret. So lets stop with the did, didn’t, did, didn’t analogy. OK Pay attention a moment — The reason I asked about Robert is because he disagrees with reason. You disagree with vengeance. You try to punish another for what you think is an injury to your ego. Believe me Robert, there isn’t a woman on this site that needs any man to come to their rescue. We’re not looking for a St. Bernard! In case you haven’t noticed — women love to bitch and dish — and, most of us do it well. So, Robert, don’t be a male bitch, it’s not becoming! Be a man, do a little better in the articulation department — then the women on here will respect your opinions.
