Palin Scoffs at Phony Planned Parenthood's 'Political Theater'

Sarah Palin appreciates a good show, but not when it’s at her expense.

Some pro-choice activists caused a stir last year when they circulated an e-mail claiming Palin, who was then running for the vice-presidency, supported Planned Parenthood and the e-mail urged readers to donate in her name. The organization, which did not condone the message, ended up receiving more than $1 million in funds. An anti-hunting organization used the same tactic earlier this month. And Palin’s not amused.

Dismissing the acts as "political theater," Palin yesterday reiterated that she would never sign on to the Planned Parenthood movement.

I have boxes of thank-you notes from people associated with Planned Parenthood thanking me for the donations. Same with some anti-hunting groups, they’re doing the same thing right now. It’s political theater — it’s great theater I guess for some.

But on the issue of Planned Parenthood and abortion, at least Planned Parenthood, officials there and I, we agree on a mission here that we’d like to see fewer and fewer abortions. And I, embracing the culture of life, have perhaps a different approach in how I would like to see that goal reached.

Palin, of course, is stridently pro-life and would rather we see no abortions.

Palin, of course, is stridently pro-life and would rather we see no abortions. Well, at least she’s consistent. If she was pro-life last year, she’s pro-life this year, unlike some politicians who bend in the wind. “There will be no earmarks as long as I’m president… we will publish a list of all those who sneak pork into bills, and they will be held accountable for it…” (paraphrased, of course)

f p, really? Allowing her daughter to get knocked up? You can’t be serious! You must not be parent because parents don’t make statements like that. No one has complete control of a 17 year old. Allowing? Geez…absurd.

Why didn’t she take to planned parenthood if she supports it? stupid woman. By not doing that she effectively allowed her idiot daughter to get knocked up/

Frank…How do u know she didnt take to planned parenthood w/ her daughter? Her daughter may not have listened, wouldnt be the first time. Most 17 year olds think they are invinsible. I am sure you did some really stupid stuff at 17, I know I did. Plus who is to say that Bristol wasnt on birth control and had a cold and was taking an antibiotic for that cold, antibiotics are known to weaken the effects of birth control pills, she could have gotten pregnant that way…its really none of our business…

You missed it…did you even read the article. She did not solicit the donations..the program solicited it in her name to get money!

You both missed it. Someone, unknown ran the ad, knowing that Planned Parenthood would send Palin a thank you note since the donations were in her name. It was a JOKE on her!

Frank, no form of birth control (aside from abstinence) is 100% reliable. Aren’t you glad you can’t get “knocked up?”

Oh, no, no, no, f p, doesn’t work quite like that.

DM, you are right on. To paraphrase Mr. Bumble in Oliver Twist - “Sir, if the law assumes a parent has control over a 17 year old then the law is an ass.”
