Palin Scoffs at Phony Planned Parenthood's 'Political Theater'

Sarah Palin appreciates a good show, but not when it’s at her expense.

Some pro-choice activists caused a stir last year when they circulated an e-mail claiming Palin, who was then running for the vice-presidency, supported Planned Parenthood and the e-mail urged readers to donate in her name. The organization, which did not condone the message, ended up receiving more than $1 million in funds. An anti-hunting organization used the same tactic earlier this month. And Palin’s not amused.

Dismissing the acts as "political theater," Palin yesterday reiterated that she would never sign on to the Planned Parenthood movement.

I have boxes of thank-you notes from people associated with Planned Parenthood thanking me for the donations. Same with some anti-hunting groups, they’re doing the same thing right now. It’s political theater — it’s great theater I guess for some.

But on the issue of Planned Parenthood and abortion, at least Planned Parenthood, officials there and I, we agree on a mission here that we’d like to see fewer and fewer abortions. And I, embracing the culture of life, have perhaps a different approach in how I would like to see that goal reached.

Palin, of course, is stridently pro-life and would rather we see no abortions.

And you sound as though you’d get along really fine with Lavrenty Beria. and the NKVD and its later incarnation as the KGB>

Frank, Didn’t you get the memo???? Stay away from Palin threads. It’s just a WoW tactic to build up comments and fights. Meanwhile great threads like Helen Suzman get few comments. If we want better topics, like the kind Wow used to post when it first started, we need to take a stand by not commenting every time the word Palin comes up.

Bush arranged the biggest transfer of public money into private hands in the history of this country.

As a woman who supports comprhensive sex ed-as long as it doesn’t include the murder of our innocent-I am torn on Ms. Palin. Had she really been open and upfront with the many forms of BC, maybe Bristol wouldn’t have gotten pregnant. I think for someone who gets shredded my the MSM daily, she handles herself with a lot of grace and self control. I have a hard time with people equating abortion with being pro woman. Abortion is in no way supportive of anything I or most women I personally know, stand for. While PP does do more than end life, it is the largest abortion provider in our country and that is upsetting.

I believe that Planned Parenthood’s goal is to help people plan for parenthood. They don’t want people to get pregnant unintentially. The are for birth control. If PP were as successful as they wish they were, abortions wouldn’t even be necessary. By no means does Planned Parenthood advocate abortion as a birth control method.

We don’t know that she wasn’t up front and open with Bristol. Perhaps, she was and Bristol took it upon herself to ignore it. I have a 13 year old daughter and I know there is only so much a parent can do. We can’t be with our child every minute, and at some point they start making decisions for themselves. At least she chose not to murder the baby before it was born. She will move on and everything will be fine eventually.

A ‘choice’ that is being advertised and promoted by the left. Giving it the label of ‘choice’ doesn’t make it good. It’s still murder.

You said Palin’s daughter “chose” - therefore you are acknowledging her right to choose. Just because she made the choice you wanted her to make doesn’t take away from the fact that not only did she have that choice, but you acknowledged it with your own words. So, you are pro-choice.

Every woman has a “choice” because at this moment, abortion is legal. So many want the watered down sanitized version of abortion. If we really want to educate a woman, how about a sonogram or listen to the heart beat? I hate people who carry around signs w/ aborted babies at the clincs, it’s no way to further a cause but neither is claiming that murder is a decent “choice”.

Actually, it occurs to me that if we just castrated the fathers after the first time they get a woman pregnant with an “unwanted” child — wouldn’t that just take care of everything…………..
