Palin's Communications Guru Discusses Gov's Game Plan

WoW has learned that former vice-presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, will be the featured guest at the Republican Governors Association annual conference to be held later this week in Miami, Florida. Despite these rumors, Palin’s communications specialist, Kate Morgan, clarifies from the Governor’s Juneau office: "She anticipates to go" to the conference. Well, then!

Perhaps looking forward to mooseless beaches, instead of the Alaskan cold tundra, Governor Palin is set to be a featured speaker at a panel discussion entitled, "Looking Toward the Future." Other featured speakers expected to participate on the panel are General Tommy Franks, Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), journalist Bill Kristol, and Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN). We also hear that Palin will be holding a press conference Thursday, the first time she will address the nation while not beholden to McCain’s marionette-like strings. From the glory of it all and talking to throngs of thousands, to chatting about Iraq, Iran, Ahmadinejad, Russia, to being involved in so called shopping-gate as the Republican nominee, WoW was interested in speaking with Kate Morgan, to find out what issues the Alaskan governor is working on now since returning to her office last week. And, golly, if you can figure out this transcript, please email us here at WoW to tell us what Morgan meant.

First off Morgan said clearly that "the Governor’s primary issues include, resource development, infrastructure and education." (That WoW got!)

This was also made clear: "One of the main things the governor is focusing on is getting the gas line moving. We’ve gotten the legislation passed and we’ve awarded a license to trans Canada-Alaska, so she’s working on getting all of the rest of the progress passed to be made there as far as working with other oil companies to kind of lay down to get that gas line flowing. That I would say is her main focus."

Hmm, it’s around this point that things get more complicated…

"Other issues facing the state — what some people consider to be inaccurate — how would I put that — listings of certain Alaskan animals as endangered or what is that second term that they use? They’re at risk? No… That’s not the technical term. Anyway, there’s two listings there specifically dealing with polar bears and there’s also the issue with beluga whales. So there’s different things and the issue there is of course wanting to provide a substantive lifestyle for our first Alaskans here which are the indigenous people and also wanting to protect our environment wanting to be good stewards to that and to take care of the animals that make Alaska. What it is however if they are improperly categorized then that can run snags on other types of development that would benefit not only people of Alaska but the world such as depending on certain kinds of drilling that we do off-shore either or people are in a hurry to list groups of whales as endangered or at risk than that might impede the progress that we’d be making to free or to lighten the the load that America has us obtaining oil from overseas." (Got it?)

Morgan also went on to coherently explain, "In the last few months the governor has been vocal about her commitment to special needs family and children and so that’s going to be a big focus in the coming years of her administration. She’s already showed her commitment by 3-year forward funding for education which has never been done in our state before."

Finally, Morgan tied things up by addressing Alaska’s fuel issues. She said, "Fuel cost is a big issue. We are seeing a lot of out migration and families moving to Anchorage or to other larger communities because they can’t afford to live in their communities out in the bush anymore. We’re trying to figure out how we can best assist them."

As for Palin daughter Bristol’s wedding plans, Morgan replied, "Um, that’s not something I talked to her about." Now that was an issue WoW understood.

This is fantastic! The guru sounds exactly like her boss! I used to get out my red pen whenever I saw a Palin transcript, but it turned into a full time job. Some things are beyond repair. It’s interesting to me that Kate Morgan did not include “dealing with the budget crisis” in her response to your questions. The Alaska state budget is dependent on oil being $74/barrel. While Palin was keepin’ it real on the trail with McCain, oil prices dropped below that mark for the first time since she took office. She’s going to have to make massive budget cuts in early 2009 and her constituents can forget about those huge checks that they got last year. Wonder if that will impact her popularity?

Perhaps more importantly, what have they done with all the “extra” moola they’ve been getting when oil was >$74/barrel??? Clothes?

Of course Palin is the only Gov that has not had to deal with shortfalls. Yet. I suspect she will have to cut services to the elderly and children now. Maybe lay-off some state workers (none of her inept friends, however). Palin and her communications person do ramble on- kind of like tweakers. Maybe all that meth that Wasilla is famous for seeped into the water system. That could also explain all the idjuts on Levi Johnstone’s MySpace site. Thank goodness we will be spared the demonizing of intellect and glorification of redneckery for awhile. YeeeeHawww! Whip them Huskies, kill them dang bears and wolves, gut that there moose! Anyone got sum chew? Been to any good lynchins lately? Oh oh! Monster Trucks on cable. Gotta go. Burp, snort, belch…..

Now that we don’t have to fear this lack of intelligence entering the White House we can sit back and see the Whole situation for what it is…….. To each his own in deciding. Now, I think she is more to be pitied. She’s so puffed up with her own importance she still doesn’t seem to understand she was USED by the Republicans…………………… I wonder about people who are still coming to her defence. I have such HIgh Hopes for the USA with such a wonderful man like Obama (OUR NEW PRESIDENT) I do hope that we can move on to more interesting subjects to discuss. I personally I’m tired of Palin and her group………….

Someone that was a newscaster and still can’t form a sentence. One would think that she would have taken public speaking in one of the many, many schools she went to. Now the wench says she would like to discuss Obama’s terrorist connections at greater depth. What a sow.

Wow - As an american male who loves women for the special beauty and brains they possess, this site clearly seems heavy on NY and LA. I have been known to say, “I prefer to hire woman as they has such strong qualities”. But I see that anything that does not follow a (your) similar path gets blasted. Does Palin stir so much anomosity among the left? Is she not to be heralded for her accomplishmensts as a woman? Do woman always have to attack those they do not agree with? Catty (and classless) comes to mind. Ladies, I can appreciate all of your strengths and I am seeing many weaknesses. Is it so hard to appreciate Palin w/o attacking her? Disagree, sure, but attack? Very typical NY, which is why I moved. I believe I have dated most of you (your types) and fortunately, I married someone with a kind heart and a servant’s mind.
