Paris Hilton for President? Paris Responds to John McCain Ad With Her Own Campaign Video

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

In a 30-second campaign ad that debuted last week, McCain mocked Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama’s image as a media star by flashing pictures of tabloid staples Paris Hilton and Britney Spears in the opening shots. This didn’t go over too well with the hotel heiress or her family, who have donated thousands of dollars to the Republican’s campaign.

According the the New York Daily News, Kathy Hilton donated $2,300 to McCain for the primary, the maximum allowed by law, as did her husband, Richard Hilton. Paris’s grandfather also sent McCain $2,300 for both the primary and the general election.

In response to the McCain video, Hilton snaps back with her own fake commercial hosted on FunnyOrDie.com. While wearing a leopard swimsuit in the video, she calls the 71-year-old senator a "wrinkly," "old," "white-haired dude," announces her plan to solve the energy crisis and also shares how she thinks, if she is elected president, she’ll paint the White House pink.

That’s hot.

The ad cracked me up. I watched it 3 times. I thought it was hysterical.

One of the candidates should hire the ad person who was responsible for that video! Immediately. Cause it was brilliant.

Say what you want about paris Hilton, the chic isn’t dumb !

Deni G is right, that is the best campaign ad I have seen. I can’t stand the ads that play ominous music when talking about the opponent , then bright sunny music when talking about themselves, UGH ! Do they think we are that dumb ? They’ve been using the same narrators for years. Hire the people who did this one… smart ,funny, hip. Very good.

Funny, Paris.
And so far, your energy policy makes the most sense of any I’ve heard.

People keep saying that Paris’ energy policy makes sense, and though I know the whole ad is tongue and cheek, the problem with the energy policy part, is that she says “that way offshore drilling carries us until the new technologies kick in…” the problem with that is that offshore drilling does nothing for a minimum of 10 years, so we would need something else to carry us… tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve might work in it’s place at least for the immediate future. Great video though, I love it.

Hi DeB,
There are those who think that affordability and infrastructure for hydrogen fuel cells, long range electric batteries and/or other technologies yet to be discovered to power personal transportation are more than ten years in the future.
If I’m not mistaken, both presidential candidates now support some degree of offshore drilling, no?

They are 10 years off, but so is off shore drilling… so the drilling can’t be used to tide us over until the other technologies “kick in” that’s my only point. None of it, drilling included helps for another 10 yrs.

The technology is already here for clean energy. Big oil killed its production decades ago. Pull the trigger on putting it back into production. No offshore drilling. No drilling in environmentally protected reserves. Instead, put pricing limits on oil companies who have been enjoying record-reaking profits under the Cheney administration so we can lower gas prices at pumps. The high gas prices are the impetus to get Americans to fall in line with these drilling policies and there’s no need for them. It is gouging, plain and simple. Shame on Obama for flip flopping on the drilling issue.

I agree with you on every issue except the “shame on Obama” part. He still says drilling is not going to help, all he has done is agree to support the Democratic plan which includes a compromise on limited amounts of drilling. That is leadership. Not budging on any issue no matter what the consequences… that is Bush style leadership.

My Alias —-Well, it looks like we won’t have a vote on any of it. Ms Pelosi is off on her 5 week paid vacation and her ‘book tour’. I thought it interesting that she told the 15 Democrats who were with the Repub’s on this issue that “If you are up for re-election and you want to stay (in other words — if the people at home are giving you hell).

I cannot believe that she wouldn’t allow a vote on something that is extremely important to the American people.

Here, all of us, would love to see a really smart woman in politics — she certainly doesn’t measure up to my expectations!!!

What was it she said “We will restore peace and civility and reach across the aisle”.

Just so much political bull!!!

Lady Gator, Pelosi and Screamin’ Dean are a couple of cracked pots. No use trying to understand them. The way they’ve divided the Democatic party to stick us with a neophyte, I think they’re working for the Republicans.

Marjorie,

You are quick and sharp. I thought it was one of the most obviously bad choices she made. The whole country sees that they would not allow a vote. Obama’s poll numbers drop. I agree with De Burca about polls - I don’t pay attention until near the end, but I found it fascinating that he is outspending McCain, doing all these great media events in Europe, and his numbers are dropping. I mean they are dropping after McCain put that dopey Paris H ad on. I thought that was pretty dumb. Whatever.

Frannie: “…about polls - I don’t pay attention until near the end, but I found it fascinating that he is outspending McCain, …”

At this point polls give you just an idea of the trend. However, all things given you’d expect Obama to be 15-20 points ahead instead of only slightly ahead or within the margin of error. What could happen that would cause him to take a solid lead? I don’t think his choice of VP will make a difference, Hillary’s stumping won’t do it, the debates won’t change things… the Dems are in trouble because no matter how old and wizened he is, McCain is a seasoned politician and he’s on his game.
