Paris Hilton for President? Paris Responds to John McCain Ad With Her Own Campaign Video

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

In a 30-second campaign ad that debuted last week, McCain mocked Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama’s image as a media star by flashing pictures of tabloid staples Paris Hilton and Britney Spears in the opening shots. This didn’t go over too well with the hotel heiress or her family, who have donated thousands of dollars to the Republican’s campaign.

According the the New York Daily News, Kathy Hilton donated $2,300 to McCain for the primary, the maximum allowed by law, as did her husband, Richard Hilton. Paris’s grandfather also sent McCain $2,300 for both the primary and the general election.

In response to the McCain video, Hilton snaps back with her own fake commercial hosted on FunnyOrDie.com. While wearing a leopard swimsuit in the video, she calls the 71-year-old senator a "wrinkly," "old," "white-haired dude," announces her plan to solve the energy crisis and also shares how she thinks, if she is elected president, she’ll paint the White House pink.

That’s hot.

Well, it’s for the first 1 million vehicles, so I think it could pass in Congress, considering the trillions we’ve spent in Iraq. We all are getting taxes tooth and nail for that.

James Buddy The first million vehicles is just a drop in the bucket. What about those people who buy after the first million and don’t get the credit, yet will have to make up the taxes somewhere else? Having spent so much money on the war doesn’t mean we should keep on spending. I want them to stop spending and balance the budget. If they can do that with a credit, more power to them.

But politicians always need a good-sounding hook for the common person: “I won’t raise your taxes”, “I’ll give you a $700 rebate”, etcetera. The truth is, no one person - Obama, McCain, Ronald McDonald - is going to wave a wand and change things overnight. But I believe Obama will get the ball rolling in a better direction.

James, Very true. It will take time. I wonder if and when (because someone always does) they will figure out how much all of these proposals will cost. From both of these guys.

I’ll never forget the President Bush saying, “Read my lips, no new taxes”, only to turn around and raise taxes after he took the oath of office. To me, that was a lot more heinous than Clinton lying about his trist with Monica Lewinsky, because the tax lie affected every (poor) American’s wallet.

Kitty: “The Energy Information Administration — says that new drilling won’t start until 2018, and won’t ever have much impact on oil prices. The EIA’s assessment of offshore drilling: For the lower 48 OCS [Outer Continental Shelf], annual crude oil production in 2030 is projected to be 7 percent higher—2.4 million barrels per day in the OCS access case compared with 2.2 million barrels per day in the reference case (Figure 20). Because oil prices are determined on the international market, however, any impact on average wellhead prices is expected to be insignificant. The EIA’s assessment of drilling in the Arctic Refuge in Alaska: ANWR oil production is not projected to have a large impact on world oil prices. […] Assuming that world oil markets continue to work as they do today, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) could neutralize any potential price impact of ANWR oil production by reducing its oil exports by an equal amount.”

Kitty Aren’t hydrogen fuel cells extremely expensive. The first one they developed cost $600,000, because it was experimental and there is no infrastructure. The one with Lithium batteries is a couple hundred thousand. As I have said so many times they have had 40 years to prepare for this and also clean up the environment, and neither side has done much.

I vote for the water powered engine. Put out the rain barrel and Bob’s your uncle.

I like the garbage-eating power plant in “Back to the Future”. “Bob’s your uncle”?

Mary Lou I may be mixing my apples and oranges on this one. I will have to go back and research more. I have been watching, as have we all, a lot of different programs, regarding alternative fuel products. I may have mixed up my concept. Thanks for the info. I believe there are also hydrogen powered cars in the US, but when we talk about cells, it made me think of something else I saw on PBS.

De Burca…this “Zera Lee” person is putting down Obama’s incentives plan for companies to build fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles, saying I’m not using ‘reasoned logic’ and other condescending remarks. I don’t know if you want to join in, but it’s in the Paris Hilton section: Read the full comment: http://www.wowowow.com/cl/77403

Damn right it’s condescending. How does a person have a debate or discussion with people when it always comes down to a put down?

I know. I don’t mind disagreement, but when they start getting personal, that’s my cue to leave.
