Ann Coulter's Birthday Wish for Bush (and a Michael-Moore-Free Definition of Patriotism)
In response to: What does patriotism mean to you?

Being really proud of America whether your husband is running for president or not. You know how Michael Moore feels about America? It’s the exact opposite of that.
Thanks for not letting Muslim terrorists kill me this past seven-and-a-half years. I owe you one, big guy. Don’t think of it as getting older; think of it as your birthday cake’s carbon footprint getting bigger!

Editor’s Note: Ann Coulter is a political commentator, syndicated columnist and best-selling author. Her latest book is If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d Be Republicans.

why would you post this hateful woman’s writing. I will no longer visit this site if she is allowed to post. this isn’t about politics this is about civility.
I too wonder the same thing. She is no Peggy Noonan!!! Her opinions are outrageous and her intolerance towards religions. But, this is what keep her PR going.
As for GW, I wish he goes to Oz and gets a brain for his birthday. Maybe he will read a newspaper, watch news coverage of Americans suffering through Katrina, the war, the economy. And maybe learn to speak in a cohesive manner.
Carol- If only he would click his heels three times and chant “There’s no place like home…there’s no place like home….” Home being Texas of course!
Josie I can think of a more hotter place for that moron to go than Texas.
Hmmmmm I wonder where that would be?LOL
Not to malign morons, Frank, but I do agree.
He is NOT a Texan!
I couldn’t agree more. I know WOW probably wants to post articles from all angles, but Ann Coulter? Not a single sensible word out of this woman’s mouth. She is hateful, snide, condescending, mean, outrageous for outrageous’ sake and has nothing intelligent to say, and the list goes on and on. How could we call her a “friend”? On Ludlow&Company last night, she sneared that Democratics are the wealthiest people in America and therefore give more to Obama, in response to why Obama receives more election funds from the public. If McCain was getting more money instead, she would probably then go and say that people are supporting him because he is the better man. Ann Coulter also blames the Democrats for the oil crisis. She even bashed Al Gore for being purposefully wishing for global warming so that the environmentalists could use this as an excuse to promote alternative solutons. Come on! I’m all for fair and balanced views but the moment she opens her mouth with that smirky grin, I wonder what this world has turned into. Ann, do us all a favor and make yourself useful and do something for the good of mankind.
As attributed to Voltaire, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” My patriotism, my love and devotion to the USA, allows me to quote Voltaire and allows Ann Coulter her opinions as well.
Common Knowledge: I’ll go along with that, and may freedom of speech always be with us.
My speech costs $38 million a year. Time to cut taxes again!

LOL, I can’t imagine that is anyone but you. That is funny. You deserve applause for this.
Hopefully GWB and his band of criminally insane NeoCons will be indicted for war crimes by The Hague for his b-day…or whenever…which is what they deserve.
So are only people with views similar to yours able to post? I may not agree with all of her views, but I disagree even more with taking away her right to say it.
I don’t believe anyone is suggesting taking away her right to say what she wants, how she wants. But prominently featuring her reply goes against what I thought this site stood for: a civil, thoughtful exchange of ideas. And as far as I can tell, from TV and bookstores, Ms. Coulter’s rights are intact! I’m unhappy to see her and her hateful tone appearing in a featured spot in a place I thought was designed to rise above that.
